@Chap Chick Fil A is a constant source of internal debate for many Americans. On the surface it is arguably the best fast food place we have; the menus not overwhelming, the food is consistent and delicious, the drive thru is a well oiled machine, there’s never a long wait even when the lines are long, the customer service is a model for customer service everywhere.
You know, there’s just that one small issue.
My daughter’s a lesbian and whenever we try to tell her about their politics she tells us she doesn’t give a shit, the chicken is the bomb.
Then again she’s only 14 so she hasn’t really experienced much persecution.
I of course realize this topic is very closely skirting the forums guidelines. I’ll let the mods decide what stays or goes.
I just want guilt free chicken and waffles. Is that too much to ask?

I never had nor did I hear about chicken and waffles. Seems to be something very American. Looking forward to give it a try when in Baltimore. Hopefully things in the US and everywhere (we are not the ones who should wag their fingers) will develop in a way to allow your daughter (and everyone else) to live the life she is dreaming of.

Suffice it to say @endo there are a LOT of American corporations that spend tons of money on political campaigning of one stripe or another. Many corporations also participate in slavery or extreme resource exploitation, etc. All in service to capitalism—but I’m sure with some actual ideology as well.

@Matt might as well door-dash a starbucks order while you're at it! US politics is wild, I understand boycotting but sometimes it's just inconvenient when some of those companies have such a monopoly...

A good friend of mine owns and runs three of their restaurants, and he’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. He gives so much of his time and money back to the community. I’ve also met several of his friends that are Owner operators of multiple locations(in GA and other states) and same thing. It’s just unfortunate that certain things end up tainting the whole company.
All that being said, I don’t eat their food or fast food in general.
Edit: not defending or condoning any beliefs of the company, etc. but just know some good decent people with them
