@SKT I’ve fallen asleep a few times watching those sunsets…I was once up in a stand and woke up to total darkness. Thank god I had a flashlight with me as I was in a climbing tree stand…

@SKT …my worst scare was I stayed until just after sunset and climbed down out of the tree. Walking back out of the woods, across the farm fields (planted with corn), I could feel that something was watching/following me.
Made it back to the house and didn’t think anything about it until the following day. I went to check my trail cameras and there was a black bear in the vicinity that night. Pretty sure that’s what I felt…

…on the flip side of that, I’ve had chipmunks run across my feet as I’ve set in the stand and red tailed hawks land on branches next to my head. It’s always amazing to just sit there and observe nature. So much goes on around us when we just sit there quietly.

@goosehd first…oh shit about the black bear. There have been sightings near our farm and I’m always thinking I’m going to see one (mountain lions too) And you’re absolutely right about what you can see when you just observe. It’s my favorite thing… just seeing all the critters and plants and sunsets and sunrises…pretty much the main reason I even get out.

A day or two late but we spent Saturday at our daughter Millie’s dojo for her black belt test in Krav Maga. After a 6 hour marathon of striking, defense, running, and other challenges she passed the test! She is one of the youngest to graduate from her dojo and we couldnt be more proud!

Having a day off at the cottage and trying to improve my skills in daydrinking. Not easy, but I had the best mentor.
