Very cool shirt ! Color goes well with almost everything (not duck for once
)Size small was fitted like a normal shirt let's say, but sleeves were much too short for me, and layering would have been impossible.
Size medium (on pictures) is perfectly comfy; it's more roomy then what I'm used to in waist and opening, but I dig it !
I think you need to go with the intended fit for this one.Picture with closed shirt is with only a T under, the ones with the shirt open are with a sweatshirt (not a IH-thick one
)

@Slash may I ask how tall you are and what your weight is. My girlfriend just received the flannel, but ihm not home for a couple of days. The more pictures I see, the more excited I am. The colour on this is amazing.
-
@Biecher Hey ma, no problem, I'm 180 cm and 74kg for the moment
-
Man I really dont know what size to get still. I am a XL in UHFs. But not sure whether to go Large in this or stick with that.
Maybe Ill just drive and hour to @TENDREL in Santa Barbara tomorrow and try both on.
-
I will tell you what the guys from IH would: Just measure your best fitting UHF and compare the measures

Products from IH vary too much in style/size/etc. to stick on a certain sizeIf you have a shop at 1h I would do it ! For me the closest is 6h to London

-
I typically buy 3X in work shirt cuts.
On this I went XXL and it’s about the same fit as the 3X UHFs which is what I wanted.Don’t intend to wear over a hoodie since it’s usually too warm in my area for that so this is spot on.
Size down from your UHF size if you want it to fit similar. Stay with normal size for the relaxed over a thicker layer fit
-
@iammortalcombat Thanks, this was my thought. Using the measurements compared to a UHF, id be a medium and I know that's not the right move.
-
@JerkStore I just got mine and I agree with @iammortalcombat. I sized down (medium to small) as I wanted this to fit like a UHF instead of an overshirt and it worked out fine. I can fit a long sleeve shirt and maybe a thermal under this but not much more. I could have gone medium to wear as an overshirt and I'm pretty sure it would have been fine as well for that purpose.
If you want it to fit like an overshirt then stick to your normal UHF size. For anyone thinking of sizing down though you should consider the sleeve width and the arm opening (at both the cuff and arm pit) measurements. I mention this as on mine the sleeve width is a bit tighter than I am used to (and I have very skinny arms) and the sleeve openings at both ends are a little tight. This still worked out for me, but I can see that this could potentially be an issue for some. I think if you buy your normal UHF size you can avoid these potential issues.
-
@JerkStore Come pop on by! I'm here all weekend!
I echo what a bunch of others have said. I go L for more of a UHF shirt fit, and would do XL if I wanted a proper over shirt. I normally go XL in UHFs. Still have an L and XL to try!

Looks like I have a new favourite flannel!

@long_john86 looks awesome man! I love the SHFs such a cool texture.

@long_john86 it pairs really well with the duck. and the white tee blends in quite well, too.

@ZackB @tody @jerkules Cheers! Feel like it’s the colourway I never knew I needed until now!
I sized down in this and I’ve ended up with a better fitting flannel than my regular work shirt UHFs… Short torso, so this seems to cater.. I may need to pay more attention to this ‘overshirt’ option!
I thought I was the only one! I typically take a Large in nearly all IH clothing and I went with the Medium on this shirt (based on the measurements) and it fits like an absolute glove. Probably my favorite UHF/SHF of my entire collection. They really hit it out of the park with this one!
-
Typical work shirt size is perfect for laying over a 33! Love this shirt!

Long walk around site this morning in 29⁰ temps with ease. Never really appreciated the windproofness of these flannels til now. Layered over 397 and 805 to stay cozy!

can always dial it a little with how I wash it, But for now it’s exactly how I wanted it
