I typically buy 3X in work shirt cuts.
On this I went XXL and it’s about the same fit as the 3X UHFs which is what I wanted.

Don’t intend to wear over a hoodie since it’s usually too warm in my area for that so this is spot on.

Size down from your UHF size if you want it to fit similar. Stay with normal size for the relaxed over a thicker layer fit

@iammortalcombat Thanks, this was my thought. Using the measurements compared to a UHF, id be a medium and I know that's not the right move.

@JerkStore I just got mine and I agree with @iammortalcombat. I sized down (medium to small) as I wanted this to fit like a UHF instead of an overshirt and it worked out fine. I can fit a long sleeve shirt and maybe a thermal under this but not much more. I could have gone medium to wear as an overshirt and I'm pretty sure it would have been fine as well for that purpose.

If you want it to fit like an overshirt then stick to your normal UHF size. For anyone thinking of sizing down though you should consider the sleeve width and the arm opening (at both the cuff and arm pit) measurements. I mention this as on mine the sleeve width is a bit tighter than I am used to (and I have very skinny arms) and the sleeve openings at both ends are a little tight. This still worked out for me, but I can see that this could potentially be an issue for some. I think if you buy your normal UHF size you can avoid these potential issues.

I echo what a bunch of others have said. I go L for more of a UHF shirt fit, and would do XL if I wanted a proper over shirt. I normally go XL in UHFs. Still have an L and XL to try!

I sized down in this and I’ve ended up with a better fitting flannel than my regular work shirt UHFs… Short torso, so this seems to cater.. I may need to pay more attention to this ‘overshirt’ option!

I thought I was the only one! I typically take a Large in nearly all IH clothing and I went with the Medium on this shirt (based on the measurements) and it fits like an absolute glove. Probably my favorite UHF/SHF of my entire collection. They really hit it out of the park with this one!

@Denimminer isn’t that short sold out anyway everywhere?

I’m digging the new cut a lot as well.
I received the shirt in size medium, usually I wear Large in western and work. Western are usually on the slimmer side around the chest, while work shirts seem a bit oversized.
This shirt is right between western and work (if you size down) noticeably, the sleeve length is 64.5cm in mine and it should not be any shorter. It’s already a lot shorter than my other shirts, which is not a bad thing. I can wear this under my Barbour jacket for example, without having 2 inches of fabric peeking out from my jackets sleeve.
I’ll try to take a picture of a have the chance this week.
For reference, I’m 181cm tall, 100cm chest and about 80kg.

@Denimminer I think this cut definitely has a place in your wardrobe. Really nice relaxed alternative to the western, very comfortable and easy to wear. Sizing advice from mine: taking the smaller of your two size range you should have a relaxed but not super oversized fit.

This shirt is amazing. I think I am actually starting to prefer the Slubby SHFs to many of my UHFs because I can get more days of wear out of them in more moderate temperatures. The feel in the hand is very unique also...almost like rugged flannel armor on the outside that is soft and comfortable on the inside. I am also hoping that IH does more SHFs in this Overshirt fit. I sized down from my Western size (from L to M) and it fits perfectly with a bit of room to layer. Here are a couple of pics alongside one of the first SHF offerings.
