Hey guys! I forgot to ask about my shoe size. My Russian shoe size is 45. My foot length is 29.5 cm. What size would fit me on the Red Wing website? 11.5 or 12?

Really liked these from the first promo shots, and they did not disappoint. Love the black oil slick leather.

@Walery-Smirnoff I got these in the same size as my moc toes (9.5) and fit seems excellent. (If my memory serves me correctly my feet are 27.5 cm. My guess would be 11.5 would be a good choice for you, but it's always hard to make recommendations, as both feet and people's preferences for how shoes/boots should fit can vary a great deal).

I have (far too) many nice pairs of boots, Wesco, Viberg etc. but I really dig these loggers. Awesome boots.

Good thing about Red Wing is there should be plenty of resources, discussions, videos etc on general sizing if you search it out.

And these should be perfectly fine for winter imo. A decent pair of socks and you should be ok. For daily winter use in Norway this type of construction has served me well for many years. If you're stationary (ice fishing etc) or perhaps working outdoors it's a different story of course, and I would look at something more insulated.

@Walery-Smirnoff I'm a size 46 is Russian boots and fit an 11.5 in Redwings, although they're a little snug. With a 45 i think 11.5 should be about right...although take that with a pinch of salt as I'm not hugely knowledgeable when it comes to Redwing relatively speaking.

@Oaktavia I've got a pair of 1308 chelseas. Think of them as a mix between a heritage boot and a sneaker - instantly comfortable, but will wear out and aren't really repairable. I use them as the boots I have by the door in case I need to just run out and get something. The sizing is generous. I sized down 0.5 from my Brannock size and they're roomy even with boot socks on.

Like loads of other stuff they used to be made better. I had a steel toe pair in the early 90s that were much, much better made. Unfortunately I messed up the sizing otherwise I'd probably still have them.

I think as long as you don't expect them to last forever they're a good choice.

@Oaktavia I have a pair of #2029s, just wore them today actually. Overall I guess I like them well enough for a rainy day, fairly solid, easy on and off (as any pair of chelseas). That said, if you value traditional construction methods and top quality materials, they're certainly not Wescos/Vibergs/Tricker's/Crockett & Jones. Not even remotely close.

I’ve had these White’s Cruisers in the rotation the past 2 years and have never treated them with anything. Thinking about maybe doing a little White’s boot oil on them which I know will darken the leather quite a bit. What do you guys think? Any feedback appreciated. Photo is a pretty good representation of current color.

ive obenauf'd rough out nicks more than a few times (the oil, not the paste). They darken a lot immediately afterwards but always lighten back up to the original shade like a month or two later. When I bought them, that's what Nicks recommended to do, since leather is leather regardless of which side is facing outwards and needs to be moisturized.
