As some of you guys know, I try to spend the holliday week around my birthday (for 14-22 Februari 2026) with my kids abroad.

(we went to Marocco last year and Ibiza this year)

For 2026, the boys would love to spend a week in the snow. So I'm calling out to everybody from the community in Sweden / Norway etc. (@neph93 @denim-dawg)
Can anyone give me some pointers - tips & tricks for a fun week up North?

They are 8 and 10 but very eager to experience and be active

The States dental care is abysmal unless you can pay for it. Also eye care because every American knows blindness & dentures are their birth right because your eyes and teeth aren't related to your health.

Ugh, i need to get my teenage son's wisdom teeth extracted, followed by braces......at least we're only 3 months into our deductible.

To your point @steelworker, i think the dental and vision care here is solid, its the insurance business that is a racket. The whole thing is mismanaged AF.

Christmas and birthdays are pretty easy during tjenDismey Princess phase so you have that to look forward to.

@Matt Mate, tell me about it. All she wants to do is watch Frozen, Frozen 2, and the Frozen West End stage musical, on repeat, while wearing her blue Frozen dress. She sings the songs to herself as she falls asleep. She demands braids.

I got lucky and found an auction online for a full toddler-bedroom suite of Frozen stuff this week - she's got a bed, little table and stools, shelving, bedside table, etc, all coming, and all emblazoned with Anna, Elsa and Olaf, and all on the cheap. (Though the auction site really screws you on fees and delivery.) Hopefully she'll be delighted when we kick her out of the nursery to make way for Baby H II.

This picture popped up in my memories today from eight years ago. At the time, my oldest daughter was absolutely obsessed with making slime. She made it nonstop, mixing, packaging, and even selling it at school until the school told us that if she didn’t stop, we might need to find her a new place to go. 😅

Are kids still into slime these days?

Hard to believe my “slime entrepreneur” is now a senior in high school. She definitely doesn’t appreciate it when I text her old pictures like this. 😂
