I am thinking about getting this vs the 666 sbg what do you guys think? I am wearing 555 mostly but realized that the high front rise is not really perfect for me and I am not able to pull the jeans all the way up mostly. Also the knee seems to be roomier in 666 and that's also a tight spot for me with the 555. I am only worried that the thighs could be a problem if they are narrower in the 666... What do you think?

@FlavourFade Have you ever tried the 777? Personally I really like that cut. Seems to hit the sweet spot for me these days. I've got several pairs of 555 and 666 (and 634), which often work well, although I can definitely see your point regarding the tight thighs on the 666 and the high rise/tight knees/roomy waist on the 555.

@JunkPants good point, I prefer straight cuts lately because I find them better looking with boots but maybe look into the 777 cut again. Had a pair of 777s-21od a while ago

666 top-block is the tightest. Thighs are my problem spot, and 666 doesn’t really work because of them. If you can handle a low back rise, then 777 could be the play.

@FlavourFade going from the 555 to the 666 you will notice the difference in rise immediately. Maybe the 634 if you're after something straighter?

@AdamJ thanks Adam, how about the mobility in the leg? 634 is too baggy for me I'm afraid, in a 36 waist the big hem is not for me

@sabergirl okay I think I'll have to try getting them in my hands. My thighs are growing but the high rise is not for me too

777 isn’t really very tapered at all. Compared to other tapered models from other brands, they are really wide in the hem. 777’s are basically 555’s with a slightly lower rise.

@V-P as long as there's more room in thighs and knees a lower rise is fine... Lifting weights is finally showing haha

I grabbed a pair, beat myself up over deciding on a fit again. Had two pair of 777s and after some washes I ended up wishing the rise was higher, so I opted for these but asked for the lowest rear rise.

They showed up, but unfortunately they don't fit, just too tight from mid quad to the knee. I'm gonna have to study fits and reevaluate what the heck will work for me. 777s , sized up I think

@Denimminer my first attempt at IH was 555 XHS and I couldn’t fit my thighs in haha. Wound up exchanging for 634 UHR and they are the perfect fit. Might be worth checking out 888!

@indigo_nico yeah, my first iron hearts were xhs in 555, but the seat was too baggy, went with 2 pairs of 777s since and was never 100% happy, I couldn't wear them on my waist where I wanted to wear them, if I could have pulled them an inch higher, it would have worked but they got stuck on my thighs trying to get them higher

@Denimminer my first pair of 555’s and I had the same issue. I’m an impatient bastard and cracked the shits pretty quickly. Ended up giving them a proper go and soak em in the shower whilst wearing them. Then did a bunch of squats and deep lunges. Purposely pushed my knee hard into them when lunging. I actually gained .6 of an inch in thigh width. Probably could gain more if I really wanted to but was happy with that. Now they are close to perfect.
                                            But…. I tried a few other cuts.
Love the 888’s (I hav e2 pairs) and they also fit perfect, love the look but the high rise isn’t exactly my thing.
777’s same, love the fit and but the low rise is too low. I’m forever trying to pull my jeans up, which they obviously can’t. Tried the 634 and they are a bit too straight in the leg for my liking, which I kinda already knew but bought em anyway. Probably best fit out of the gate though. Super comfortable, my first duck jeans too. I think they will be a love hate relationship. Love the fit and feel but don’t enjoy the look of such a straight tube of material. Then whack em on again and love the fit and feel, then look down again and they annoy me 😂
I keep getting told 633’s but I currently have a few reasons as to why I won’t buy them as of yet.
My latest though was another pair of 555’s but this time I sized up and then shrunk them down. They are absolute perfection. I sleep in em they are that comfortable and wash them regularly. The 21oz is finally softening up although it’s still a bloody tough fabric.
