Well I am between sizes but the XL was out of stock so I bounced on an L before it ran out, too. Fingers crossed the L is the right size! Here are my measurements

      19 shoulder
      30.5 length
      22 chest
      21 waist
      21 opening
      25.5 sleeve
      4 3/4 sleeve opening

I’m 5’11 and about 175 lbs and even tho my measurements are between sizes it seems, based on a couple responses here, the model used and also talking to IronHeart support that the L is still probably the right fit so feeling good it’ll be the right pick!

@tk303 It was a bit of long explanation but I've been wearing it lately so it was front of mind so had the thoughts all ready. It can be a bit of a challenge too, getting the sizing right so if I can help that's a good deed. I'm in Australia & it's not easy to find someone that can sew denim or cares for that matter (they do care about getting paid however). I took it to a proper tailor, he wasn't sure, I explained to him how I think he can do it (seriously, well to be fair he usually does suits). Anyway, I got him to remove the bottom hem, shorten the body, then reattach the hem. He did a good job, complete with a few crooked lines to make it look 'handmade'. I think the original hem was chain stitched but that's just about impossible to get where I am so it was a sacrifice I was willing to make & it's not noticeable. It couldn't be shortened any more as this would've affected the pockets. The only noticeable change apart from a better length is the hem button spacing is different but who'd look at that? Good luck.

I've done that kind of shortening of the body to my original 70's Lee Rider. It was at that point unworn, untouched. I was able to do it with a regular sewing machine. Not a biggie...

Anybody have any sizing advice on the new run? Did you go normal size or UHF size?

@ZackB I normally go XL in UHF, and L in type 3/most jackets. The L was perfect on me with this one if just going to wear it over a tee. If i wanted to layer it over something more substantial would probably go up to an XL.

Kind of behind the scenes question, but was this run of denim made at a different mill than the denim for the most recent storm rider run? It appears a little more neppy this time around, but that could just be the specific jacket I received!

Just got mine as well! So pumped about this, glad I ordered both XL and XXL, gonna end up going XL but the unknown would have ate away at me! XL maybe ever so slightly too tight when buttoned up but likely wont be buttoning up very often anyway. Love the quilted sleeves as well!

@Ikeaparty Asking a difficult question here. In what way: Is the jacket too tight? You’re not only stretching the denim, but the lining’s as well…

Is 18oz denim stretchable? Then yes…

@goosehd just curious if itll loosen up at all over time, not thinking of intentionally stretching anything, it fits basically primo right now.

That said it could be slightly looser, XXL definitely too big, mostly just due to posture where my shoulders hunch forward it puts some tightness on the back across the shoulder so wondering if thatll loosen at all which based on your answer it will over time.

Suspect that the lining would stretch more than the denim!

edit: I havent ever owned anything of the vintage demo so mostly just dont have the experience with the fabric like I do with others

@Ikeaparty It should stretch with time, but you’re working against a couple of layers and if it’s too small the results won’t be great. Just about right and there will be some give with that time.
