Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
-
@Aussie-Ben Echoing @wjw and @ManiacLachy, the 633 is probably your cut. I was in a similar position as you, in that the 634 fit me snug on the top block and the 888 has a higher rise and more aggressive taper than I'd hope for, so I've been sticking mostly to 633 (although I'd still love to try 1955 if I could ever get my hands on a pair). You're limited to the types of denim available but there are enough options to keep it interesting.

@SonnyTheElder cheers Sonny

@Aussie-Ben if you're looking at other brands check out UES. Some good shit there.

@ManiacLachy Any reasons why IHUK cannot carry them ? I though they were offical IH representative outside Japan ?
I come back from a summer trip in Japan and I was really surprised to discover that all cuts are not sold in there. It's confusing to the customer...
I've still bought a 634s that i really love especially the top block and i was just wondering that a top block from 634 + taper from 888 would be the perfect fit !

IHUK have sole responsibility for all distribution outside of Japan. A large portion of that distribution is western only, including many jeans cuts, and a lot of shirting. There is also a smaller amount of items that are more or less only available in Japan. The 463 being an example.
As sole distributors internationally, IHUK also supplies Self Edge. As one of the oldest IH retailers outside of Japan, Self Edge are privileged to have cuts that are exclusive to them, namely the 633 and 301.

To add, we sell stuff outside of Japan, that we create specifically for the Western market, and will have no demand in Japan. The only way we could carry the same stock would for us to reduce what we offer to the west by about 75%, we prefer to do what we do....
I actually can't think of a single brand of anything, that does not have regionally different products....

@jimcasey just checking out a pair of 633’s on Selfedge and couldn’t find UES on their site.
Corlection in Australia does though. Their flannels look bloody nice. God damn it, collecting cheap shitty Chinese Dixxon “flannels” was so much cheaper, but got sick of having to keep trimming all of the loose threads on each new purchase.
So foolishly I went looking on YouTube to find some better quality flannels. Bought a couple of Pladra flannels, then an Iron heart flannel then IH 3 flannels, then IH jeans, IH jumpers, then samurai t-shirts, now I like the look of UES.
I think I might need a dumb phone

@Aussie-Ben you and me both brother.
-
25 Oz denim "shirt"? With a bit shorter sleeves that you have 18oz one?
-
@neph93 well samurai apparently makes (or made?) 25oz jacket... Soso denim makes even 33oz chore(probably quite so so but still)... So I guess it's not impossible? Really really hard, yes...
P.s. type 3 doesn't exist? Any tops 25 Oz does exist?
-
@rimaarts theres a 25oz vest
-
@hjl360 correct. And that was decided to be the limit. The challenge was the seams on the sleeves and the cuffs, which also negates the shirts.
At the end of the day @rimaarts never say never. But the denims you mention are not IH 25oz, and the brands aren’t Iron Heart. Until the Boss finds a way of doing it with his denim, that he is satisfied with, it won’t happen.

Let‘s be honest: sooner or later we all will need reading glasses and we all will sooner or later misplace them. For sure there are a lot of straps but as denim lovers, we need a very special strap. After my 777-25 oz was hemmed, I had some leftovers. My wife Susie had the brilliant idea to make a glasses strap out of the leftovers. And she really did a great job! This must be true love….
Maybe another idea for the project RE:LOVE
