@SKT with my mushrooms I tend to put them in the oven at 250F for 20 minutes and then put in skillet with butter melted. It’s makes the outside crispy, locks the moisture and makes them tender inside as well.

@seawolf I think this one actually might be black staining polypore. COTW is bright orange and yellow while BSPP is more muted in color.

As far as I could find out, it is a ‘Bondarzewia berkeleyi’ or also called ‘Berkeley's polypore’.

I have been avoiding this thread as I thought KF was another niche Japanese brand that I shouldn't be spending my money on!
