@goosehd Ok I did a little agitation the second time I soaked it. The water was very hot 🔥!! I just want to remove as much shrinkage as possible so I don't have to worry about it in the future.

@worn2fade Watching your video makes me think I need this 526L even though I picked up a 526LOD at the last release and it's been too hot here to wear it.

@Goz Hot water and agitation is about all you can do. Just don't go too hot or you risk damaging the leather patch!

@seawolf OK thank you the water was as hot as the tap could get and the patch still looks decent.

@Goz I soaked mine in the hottest possible tap water for about 80 minutes the first time and then soaked again in preparation for a wash a day later. I agitated by hand the first soak with super hot water and there was still some shrinkage left, in full transparency - if you don’t wash it in a washing machine - you more than likely will still have some shrinkage there waiting for ya.

If you scroll up a bit you can see my detailed process with this denim along with a short YouTube video.

@worn2fade Hey thanks for the info I guess I'll have to wash it to get the rest of the shrinkage out. Did you wash your jacket in hot water?

@Goz the washer machine I used didn’t allow hot water with a delicate cycle so I did warm, not hot.

@Goz if you have not soaked it yet and it looks and feels really big, I would return it for something that is just slightly larger than you want it. Iron Heart does recommend soaking and washing their denim in 30-40c, not boiling water. I don't know why that is, maybe one of the IH crew can answer that. If it's just to avoid shrinkage, boil away I guess. I purchased 2 of these jackets, first was too big, second one fits perfect. The second one was only slightly larger than I wanted. It should not look like a tent when you try it on unless you're going for a relaxed fit and want to layer bulky clothes underneath. Both jackets I soaked/washed (30-40c) had .5 inches of the shoulders and came up 1 inch on the body and sleeves. Everything else shrank a little, but not much. Hope that helps.

@jpvisual Thank you for the info, I already soaked it twice both times in hot 🔥 water. It shrank and fits ok I think if I went with a smaller size (large) it may be small. I just want to get all the shrinkage out of it before I start wearing it so the fades won't shift after washing it.Right now it fits good but it's a little roomy.

Looks like you've got a second long sleeve collared shirt under the double denim?!!

@pechelman hahaha I’ve gotten so used to it dude it’s not even funny. Yeah man I got a regular white western underneath all of it, we’re celebrating my girlfriends birthday with her friends today and she begged me to wear something that wasn’t just triple denim - this was the compromise.

Mine from a couple batches ago shrunk an inch in the lengths just by soaking without any agitation. Water was room temp.

So I did my third hot 🔥 soak (for 2hrs) and then washed my jacket inside out in the washing machine on normal cycle......waiting for it to dry hopefully that takes whatever shrinkage was left from the 1st two soaks out!!!
