In the wild: Animals edition

This morning at the sugar bar:

Chilly mornings gets these guys hungry very early.

Cinnamon finches (all females) going after finely crushed corn

While these sayaca tanagers, exclusively frugivores, go nuts over bananas.

Black Crowned Night Heron…

This little guy seldom drops by for a sip of water, one of the smaller woodpecker species around here.

@Oaktavia they are fairly common around here. Their plumage colors range quite a bit around the bluish tones (age, sex) and when you get a cluster of them it makes for a beautiful palette. I’ll try for a clearer pic next time and post here.

Yesterday, we observed an unusually low perch for a red tailed hawk

Came across a few moose while I was out fishing the other day.
A cow and calf here. Also saw a bull later on, but he was too far away to get a decent picture of.

My buddy lives up near Ned and he constantly has moose and bear on his property. I feel like I’m seeing more and more wildlife of late. Perhaps Mother Nature’s come to arms
