In the example above, the model wearing the IH flannel is not standing straight which I believe is the reason you see the lines not running 90 degrees vertical in comparison to the flathead. If the model was standing with his shoulders more squared, then the lines would run better.

I think the concern is that the pattern is not equidistand from the placket on both front sections

You'd only get this information from Mildblend. They probably measured their shirts using their methods which I'm unsure of.
