      A herringbone fabric work coat

      Would collarless be OK? 🤐

@Giles I have a hard time personally pulling off collarless but for this I would give it a crack!

Looking forward to seeing what Haraki had up his sleeve.

Have you ever offered tapering denim? You obviously have skilled people for the lifetime repairs and excellent hemming services. I can get my 21oz and lower handled locally but then I lose the chain stitched hem. And she has told me not to bring her the 25oz. 😂 So when I see large hem's on them I'm inclined to leave them. Thanks

Thanks guys! Maybe I'll wear them with a cuff for a while before I decide to chop them. It makes me nervous talking about hamming a $400 pair of pants [emoji51]

                Hi, Brock.

Just to echo the wisdom already laid down here, these do need hemming. It's a standard job to do on premium denim that only comes in one length. It's also a relatively simple job for a decent tailor/seamstress. Nothing to worry about.  The denim will also settle and soften and that will calm the indigo sea a bit. I would also consider a warm soak to eliminate shrinkage. Do this before hemming.

If you really feel the leg opening is too wide for you then tapering is a drastic step and a harder job. I believe that if you choose this, you should find a denim specialist for it. There's been a number of discussions on this forum about it, so recommendations should be easy to find.

That being said, heavily tailoring cuts is also something that's a bit controversial. Personally, I think that while hemming $400 jeans is normal, tapering them is too radical and drastic. Haraki-san and Giles work like artists on the designs and the result is their vision. Modifying the cut just means this is the wrong cut for you, and you're fucking with what was intended. Obviously they are your jeans and it's entirely up to you what you do with them. If it was me and I wasn't happy with the cut, I'd put them up for sale and re-invest the proceeds in the cut I wanted, before tapering what is intended to be a slim-straight cut.

I'm guessing it's been brought up….but tapering service for guys like I. Instead of sending our jeans to RCFG for the service...right from you guys would be killer. Though he 888 cut sort of fixes future releases, not a fix for denim that might not ever be introduced to the cut.

We don't feck around with our cuts.  You want to, then we can't stop you.

@CosmoSix5 No disrespect taken as it’s a topic that has popped up fairly frequently over the years with the answer always being no. As @Jett129 pointed out, there are a few great tailors out there who specialize in these types of requests. They are highly revered in the community and maybe you could try reaching out to them about how to make your wishes come true.

Basically because Haraki takes a lot of time and effort to get the cuts perfect, both in cut and balance (in his eyes), so chopping and changing, is not something he'd want to be involved with.....

@CosmoSix5 There are a few members on the forum that have taken jeans to the next level of fit by sending their pairs to denim specialists. I don’t know how much they have spent, but the results have been phenomenal.

In the denim game, sometimes you need to make compromises and either accept the standard offerings as is or as you and others have done, pay extra for what you want.

It sounds like you are in a niche wants department and may have to pursue the specialist route. Could be worth it to get what you desire.
