Wax Treasure (Vinyl)

This is such an amazing album. Beautiful artwork and very nice re-interpretations of the original song by song by various artists.
Especially like the All them Witches cover of Voodoo Chile.
Does anybody know or have any other of their redux series?

(@SKT this is one his albums that Swift produced) -
Not convinced on the politics, but the music’s great.

Gang Of Four - entertainment! 1979“Revolutionary mix of abrasive guitar and subversive societal observations…”
Rediscovered GO4 and since then, they had a lot of play in the car and on the turntable.
Grew up with John Peels Live Sessions.
Definitely a music road I followed.
Looking out for some vinyl of this session now. -
So glad to be back home in the music room. Beano album this evening. Some say best British blues album ever? I dunno but I like it
-
It probably is the best British blues album ever, it’s certainly seminal. And I like it too.

@68degreesorless I wore the grooves out of that album, when I had it. First time I saw Mayall,a very young Mick Taylor was playing with him,and he was phenomenal. The were opening for Ten Years After, and at one point Alvin Lee came out and jammed with them.

Finally started listening to records again this week. It's probably been a year or longer since I've spun one. I'm in the process of going through a bunch to give away or sell. As with most stuff in my home these days, I'm going with quality over quantity. I remember when we moved to Nashville, I had probably 1500 or so, maybe more. Sold so many on Discogs and eBay in the last couple of years.

@Jett129 that’s a great story. Would have loved to have seen that. Also need to pick up one of the mick taylor mayall albums

@chrisjohnnick I'm going through the same process. I had 2500 or so, I'm down around 1500 or so now and have either sold or am selling a bunch. If I'm not realistically going to listen to it, off it goes.

When I was in high school, I had an upright piano in my bedroom that I got for free from a local church. I had enough records to fill up about 1/3 or 1/2 of the top, and I listened to all of them pretty regularly. I'm just trying to get back to that. There are some that I don't think I have touch in 20+ years, other than when flipping through.
-
Ironically, recorded over 2 nights. The opener, Tulsa Time, really gets my foot tapping.

I don't know a lot about vinyl and music in general but at the bremen meet I was talking to @IH-GARY and @endo about my fathers collection. He was a sales rep for universal music most of his career and has a lot of stuff. I was able to take a couple pictures today. Tip of the iceberg. Gary asked me to ask for his top five and he will think about it but named the stones, Springsteen, Johnny Cash and the Beatles for example. Nothing super special but he grew up with this music.
-
@FlavourFade Awesome! I hope you have fun exploring the collection! I worked in entertainment retail for years and the music label rep visits were the best!
-
@FlavourFade Beatiful preserved collection.
Next time around you should ask him to play something for you. Competence time.

Odd Nosdam - Pretty Swell Explode
With guests on the terrace, I chose some bleeps and blings as background music yesterday.
Boards of Canada remixes of Odd Nosdam didn’t disappoint.
Next time I’ll try an original BoC record.
