Hey @kiya are you wearing OD or indigo?
Lots to be excited about, and the brand-new looking hardware from the new OD process looked sick too. Very excited to see y’all and the collection in a couple of weeks in LA!

@kiya how's the stretch been in the waist for the pair you've been wearing? OD or indigo? Thanks,
Been wearing the indigo, sized up 2 sizes from the size I should be wearing to achieve a loose and wide fit. So I've gotten no waist stretching due to the waist being so big on me and wearing them with a belt. Will wait another week or so before I snap some photos of the 2 month mark of wearing them.
-
@kiya excited to see. I’m all about sizing relaxed for 633s!
-
After over a month of wear there's already some nice indigo hues coming through, just gave them a wash at the 6 week mark and they're currently drying.
We'll have tons of photos, specs, and measurements up on our site in less than a week. -
How would you compare these with the 19LH ?
lighter, maybe less dense ?
These already look like they are locked and loaded for intense fades. -
@kiya amazing that you posted this for us! They look great! Can’t wait to see more! Thank you!!!
-
Not really getting my hopes up but would love to see this denim in a 634 someday. Love the way it looks but just can’t do the taper.
-
Is the 633 cut similar to 634 just with a bit more taper?
-
@Brandrea yep. Not a problem for all but I have huge feet and an 8” hem won’t fit over my engineer boots, or at least not without looking silly. Plus just not personally a fan of the way tapered jeans look on me. Obv they work great for some folks.
-
@popvulture I hear you a bit there. Too much taper for me and I'm not so much a fan of how they look. I tend to go no smaller than a 7" opening.
On the 633 jeans, I picked up a pair of SBGs last year and I'm quite impressed with them, taper included. For my tag 34, they measure out to just under 8" at 7.7, so works well enough for me.
I'm excited to see these ODs. That's a fabric and dye I've not yet experienced.
-
@popvulture The 19Lh that I have are the 634's and they may be my favorite cut.
I couldn't do a taper either I don't think.
But for those that do---more power to ja -
@popvulture same here. Lucky for my wallet … otherwise.
-
@dinobarnesberlin man I love that denim! I tried to get a pair of the last run but the back rise ended up weirdly low and I had to send em back. Hoping to pick up a pair next time around.
-
@popvulture right on--- its such a good weight/cut that makes it my favorite.
It just gets a look that is unique to me.
Plus, I like the leg twist.
Maybe you got a weird one, so yea--get the next run if you can. -
@popvulture we seem to have similar fits. Rise is my new fitting frontier, if there be such a thing. As I'm still learning how all these jeans and fits work, I've mostly focused on leg opening, waist, and the top block. I did not pay attention to the rise until I impulse-bought a pair of Brave Stars outside of my normal fit and found them way too low in the rise. Mid and high-rise for me now.
-
@Bobcat-Sig totally hear you on that. 634's 11"-ish zone is kind of the sweet spot for me, as a 12"+ rise is fine but sometimes I almost feel like it's a tad too high when I sit down and it sorta slices into my gut haha.
I have learned, especially with the aforementioned pair of 19Ls, that the back rise is a real one to watch out for. If it's too low, you can really get sort of a wedgie effect if you have any kind of butt. If I'm buying around a size 34, 16" rear rise is perfect, can do 15.6ish.
-
@popvulture My man! Yes, same. The 888 in 25oz does feel high on me, but have softened a bit upfront. I find that fit to be a good cold-weather option as it covers more of the backside.
Out of curiosity since I'm a new guy here; how are you finding, in general, how front and back-rise measurements relate? I see not all brands or vendors list both, usually only one.
With a lifetime of skiing, hiking, and now motorcycling, sporting a butt is very much my cross to bear. Though my wife loves it, so...
-
@popvulture MOAR taper!
Moarrrrrrrr, make my boot uppers gasp for air!

not pop, but we've commiserated over this before being in the same camp of needing ~11" minimum in the front and 15.5" minimum in the rear rise.
In general, I'm not sure there is a general rule on how one dimension relates to the other unless both measurements are provided. In some cases, there can be a little, very little imo, give and take between front and rear rises, similar to how a shoulder measurement and a sleeve length can play together, but it's much less forgiving. This will generally change on how the waist sits on your body either angling up/down and how often you'll need to pull your pants up in the back.
I've also found rear rises to stretch with wear pretty reasonably.
