These ones finally came in this week. For reference, the order was placed November 2023 through The Shop. It was a wait, but couldn't be more happy with the fit and feel. TJ was great at giving me updates along the way as well whenever I would ask.

@robustbambi Chris built a similar pair a few years with the horse tea core after it was clear my big-ass feet would never fit into any Mr Lou boot.

@ZackB I definitely did not have a full appreciation on the timelines. I thought no way it would take that long. Lesson learned haha. I did have some moments of panic on the sizing choice as well. But it all worked out and as you said...stoked!!

@bluemantra Waiting is the hardest part, no question. It's crazy how far out Wesco is with the builds now. I think I got my last custom pair in before or during the pandemic and it was only a few months.

Great boots guys. I should leave this topic. It just keeps me looking at the calendar and wondering when mine will arrive. I’m hoping by end of summer.

Has anyone had trouble with getting a good fitting boot when going the custom route? Batting 0 for 2 and not sure what the deal is. Obviously I'm reaching out to them but curious if it's just me. Mods feel free to delete if this doesn't belong or your concerned.

Good question @pechelman I was thinking the same thing. I have my first custom order with them now. I have a feeling it must work pretty well if you follow all instructions otherwise they probably wouldn’t offer that mail in measurement option. I was worried about maybe the tape was too loose or too tight or I wasn’t sitting right etc. I had my wife to the measurements and at the end of the day I think there is probably some wiggle room with the leather stretching and other little things you could do to improve the fit if it’s not perfect. Obviously though it hasn’t worked out for you twice now. I just sort of took the measurements sent them off and hope for the best.

I ended up deciding to get measured at Wesco to make sure it was measured right. Still haven't written my message to Chris yet. Right now I have no idea how I ever fit into a standard last pretty well and ended up with such bad fits, twice.
