Dropped them off at the optician today to get dark blue sunglasses lenses with strength (prescription) installed. Decided that dark blue with 85% tint level is the best for every day and holiday purposes. Will post a photo of them when they're back. In two weeks that is....

@cityofdelusion Nice. Not to sound stupid but is there a risk they damage the frames when they refit lenses?

@will6er I've had three pairs of JMMs fit with prescription lenses and never had an issue. They just pop out, so a skilled optical shop will have zero issues.

@will6er Not that I'm aware of, no. I'm sure opticians - especially experienced ones - know what they're doing since they handle different frames and lenses of various thicknesses and shapes everyday.

Basically, they have to pop out the demo/old lenses, cut the new lenses to the shape of the frame and pop those in again.

Edited to add for posterity that sometimes it may be necessary for them to heat the acetate to fit the lenses easier/better.

I'm convinced that Ichikawa is the absolute perfect style (for my face). Love the blue lenses on these, too. Here's hopefully a better photo than the one I posted before.

bought a second pair of Earl as I really love to wear them . Model is called Earl Empire and has great rosé/ red glasses. only 300 made , guess it’s the rarest version of the Earls.

Here’s my collection.. the GT-R in reserve on the top right just arrived today - this year’s pair. Really happy with them, have been looking for the ideal pair if titanium frames for a few years and these seem to fit the bill.

Ah nice 1! It was a toss up between the rover and reserve. How do you like them compared to the Earl? I tried the Earl first but they were a bit tight on my fat head.

the Earls are definitely lighter and fit me great.
The GT-R feels more massive but not in a negative way. What’s a bit sad about them is that the acetate is not transparent like it’s on the rover’s, which I really like .

@Daniel-San mine’s exactly the same, I think it’s the acetate paddles on the temples that stop them from folding completely.. they look great tho!

had a closer look this morning and yes you’re right. guess that’s why they come in the bigger box . They are very comfortable to wear , very cool
