@Giles sounds like the perfect solution and great name. Ukiyo is also the name of a distillery that may or may not help with detachment from the burdens of life! I’ve not tried it yet but they even do a sakura gin!

I absolutey love the name UKIYO. Sarina had to look it up when I told her, but she says it is absolutely perfect. It has also made me start reading, The Life of an Amorous Woman (and other writings by Ihara Saikaku, because I wanted to really understand the meaning and context of UKIYO. It is a fascinating read.

She can be 24 or 36. I've got a 24 volt Lithium which is good for 2 days without recharging. Obviously I could upgrade if I needed too.

I had 4 knots out of it the other day, and I think I had some current against me.

I absolutely LOVE the anchor feature.

@Giles I've always wanted to add the anchor feature to my Minn-kota, but the price is basically what my boat is worth. That makes it so easy to work the lily pads when I want to cover many parts of a small area without simply cruising by. It doesn't help that I dropped my trolling motor off the side of my boat a couple years ago on concrete (while driving, long story) and broke the skeg off it. Casting with efficiency and trolling a shoreline, especially in any kind of windy condition is an artform.

Whoops.......Yes, I think I will use anchor and jog features a lot when keeping abreast of shoals of static sometimes/moving sometimes shoals of Bass. The other thing I like is that I can use gestures on the remote control. I just point it to where I want the boat to go press a button, and off she goes....

The old support for the trolling motor when it is not in use was crap, so I replaced it with a Railblaza. I can easily remove the support when fishing, which is a massive plus point.....

We are staying just outside A Pobra do Caramiñal. We popped into town to buy supplies and get ourselves fed. In the Supermercado I was trying to choose a beer to take home, when I was whacked around the ankle by a hard white ball, I was a little irritated until I saw that the ball was attached to a stick which was attached to a blind person. In fact there were 2 blind adults and 3 normal sighted kids, who I later found out ranged from 8 months to 5 years old. Dad and mum were talking English with an American accent and after listening for a minute or so, I realised they were trying to find non-scented bio-degradeable wipes. I offered to help which was accepted. We bumped into them outside the shop and found out that they were heading for the same Italian restaurant as us, so we walked and talked.

They are from Ohio and the adults are basically completely blind and are on a longish vacation, they had spent a month in London, are spending a month in A Pobra do Caramiñal and then a few weeks in Yorkshire. This is their 5th trip to Europe and consider it to be a large part of their kids education. The 2 oldest kids had leads on, bells on their harnesses and around their ankles and air tags attached to the harness too. I suggested tattooing QR codes to their foreheads which they thought was a great idea :-).

Seeing how they moved around, just got shit done, laughed about everything, left me and Paula utterly humbled. Billy, the dad, had taught himself Spanish before they came (like you do) We had dinner together and I was in awe.
