Excuse the topic drift guys.
I have 3 roughout boot/shoe and frequently wondered whether applying any ‘regular’ conditioner/restorer/humidifier product meant for smooth leathers would work similarly if applied to the inner side of roughout footwear. Don’t oils & greases penetrate leathers?

@motojobobo A suede or nubuck brush with a bit of soda. Just spoken to Steve at Simmons Bilt who advised to certainly not apply oil or cream to roughout

Not to contradict anyone, but I've had a pair of chocolate rough out nicks for going on ten years now that I've semi routinely (every couple years?) applied obenaufs oil with no issues. it darkens a lot but then lightens back to "normal" over a few months.

Also, sounds like @weftyarn 's dream of oil wrestling at the party is one step closer to happening
