The best advice I can give you is, measure both pairs the Iron Heart way and then compare the measurements to the 888 chart for the tag size that you are looking into getting. The Iron Heart size chart are very accurate. You can always email the Iron Heart crew and they can find you an 888 with your ideal measurements or as close as.possible.

@Mindfulbiscuit great fit. I would keep them as long as the waistband were tight-enough.

The 555 is an option as long as you clear handle the slim leg and taper to the knee. They have the tightest knee measurement than any other iron heart cut. The cool thing about the 888 is that you can sizedown and still have good leg room. If the waist fits you on the 888 you will have no issue anywhere else.

@bluemantra I’ve gotten 2 pairs of 633s from self edge. I just shot them a message and they were super helpful with sizing. I have some 888s and the waist on mine are about an inch smaller to start than my 633s. And I’m pretty sure these are just the 634 with a tapered leg.

To elaborate a bit. Kiya from Self Edge wanted a cut that was 634 in the top block, but with more taper to the cuff. We made it and called it the 633. It is exclusive to Self Edge. Unlike the jeans we stock, we do not measure each production run, so do not know what the measurements actually are on these from run to run.

Also be aware that Self Edge measure jeans differently from us.

Anyone here have a pair of 633 and also another pair of IH that can help me out please? Self Edges sizing seems all over the place! I am a 32” in all IH cuts here in the UK (just talking waist here). They have a pair of 633 in a 31” and they seem to fit me on paper just right albeit a tight waist that will stretch enough. Some of their other models I am a 32-36 according to their measurements! Anyone had a pair of 634 and 633 regular indigo that can help with waist sizes? Do you take the same in both. TIA

If I was you I would take the same size on 633 as you take on 634. It's hard to size for someone else. What size are you on 634? Keep in mind that the sizing guide on Selvedge website is different than how IH measures.

@yannis thanks Yannis. Not had the 634 but am 32” in 555, 777 and 666. The thighs, knees etc on the 634 are bang on as I want a pair of slightly more relaxed but the waist is showing 32”. Have checked with Kiya and she says it is dead on 32” but some of their other waist measurements are all over. For example all their 777 measure exactly the same as the tag size.

I woukd go tag 32, just don't hem just in case you need to exchange for a different tag size. I don't think you will need to go any bigger for sure. If a tag 32 666 fits you well you may be able to handle tag 31 on the 634 or 633. Obviously depends the look you are going for. The 634 has a wider profile all the way through from the 666. The 633 suppose to be a 634 with more taper from the knee down.

@yannis Appreciate the advice Yannis. I can’t exchange as live in UK but they are on sale so making it worth a punt. The 31” will work all over thigh, rise etc perfectly, it’s just the waist will be bordering on very snug.

Just picked up my first pair of Iron Hearts. I've had several different brands of Selvedge, this is the most excited I've ever owning a pair of jeans. I can't wait to wear these bad boys and see how they break in. For a 21-ounce pair of jeans, it does feel thick but pretty comfortable. I got them to wear as a daily jean and I plan on wearing them while riding my motorcycle (as they were intended for.

I’m a big fan of the 633s 14oz, which I’ve I been wearing heavily for two years. So I just got some 633s 18 oz ones, which run about 2 inches smaller in the waist. I’m a 32 in the 14 oz and 34 in the 18 oz. The waist size is correct on the 18 oz but the rest of the cut is wider and baggier. They're not slim/straight fitting jeans. I know you should always follow the measurements on the site, which I thought I did, but these seem like a totally different cut. I’m just wondering how people buy thicker versions of the 633s that fit when the sizing changes so much?

As a general rule cuts in different denims can come up differently in terms of dims. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with denim weight, (for example 14oz 666’s are bigger than the 21oz).

I suspect there are a lot of variables at play here. If you’ve worn the 18oz one of them may be stretch. Others include the factories, differences within runs, etc.
