@RobeOfTheMagi I can tell you I had the waxed rider in a size large and it was fine with a UHF under but I wished I had taken a medium like in my other Freenote jackets. With only a tee it was too baggy I thought.
Trust the measurements per usual. Measure a jacket that fits how you'd like this one to fit. Again, those shoulder gussets are genius for chest and shoulder mobility.

I’m 6ft and 87kg, I have an athletic build and could have gone medium for a super slim fit but seeing as I’ve changed my gym routine lately I felt it wouldn’t be long until I needed to size up, I felt the armpits constricted a bit. Swapped out for a large and so glad I did. Looks great with a tee but can get away with a UHF or light sweater too.
Given your height and weight I’d be inclined to go medium. I think your stats are similar on paper to the guy that sells freenote near me. Autuer store on Instagram if you want to have a look at how his fits in medium.

@RobeOfTheMagi in case you’re still considering… I’m 6ft, 85kg, 41 inch chest. I’m between Large and XL in IH, depending on the piece. I have this exact jacket and went with Large. With the thicker lining and dense fabric, I think you’d appreciate a touch of extra room as opposed to being too fitted. I’ve tried Mediums in this jacket and find they’re very snug on me. I am a bit bigger than you but I’d lean Large.

Just picked up a pair of their Rio jeans and the fit and quality is off the scale. This pair was a brown indigo and already some electric blue fades coming after just a month. The only pair of jeans I have had that fit me all over 100%. Crazy sizing though like most brands - 34” waist, 32” in IH and 30” in these!

@americanathreads Hey mate! I nearly bought the medium but then I figured I'm between sizes which I am often with IH as well. I Think the jacket is either too fitted for layering or so loose on me that it is not really a riders jacket anymore.

So, as I said I am so fascinated by the waxed rj1 I had to get an olive 10 Oz version too. It fits a bit looser or might just feel like it, as its noticeably lighter and softer. I guess that's the best of two worlds, as I can layer it with an UHF and still get away wearing it with just a tee in spring.

For comparison I added my 20oz version.

@Choko out of curiosity, what size did you go with, and what’s your height/weight? I’d like to get a pair of these but Freenote’s measurements seem to be more generous than all of the retailers I’m seeing. Sorta stuck between 33 and 34, just trying to avoid getting the wrong size if I can help it.

@popvulture I’m 6’1 230 lbs. I bought a size too big. I should’ve went with my gut and gotten a 36 but I got a 38 and the waist is loose on me. I could’ve returned them but I didn’t want to take them off haha and the creases set and I said screw it I’ll keep them. I washed and dried too and it didn’t do shit! Haha. Go with what Franklin and Poe says. IMO they’re the most accurate for Freenote and they stock the slub deck pants

I just pulled the trigger on an RJ-2. They just restocked them and added more 20oz canvas versions. I went with the 20oz olive canvas. The best part is they are also doing an early black Friday sale so I got 20% off. Pics will be coming once it arrives.

@pmadison95 - so tempted by the RJ-2 but not sure whether to go with the waxed olive or the denim. Anyone have the denim? Also, as I am buying from the UK suspect I will be hammered by the duties.
Grateful from anyone with either jacket for views on the denim vs waxed. Oh and how to avoid the taxes!

@Crispy-Heron I know @Mizmazzle has the indigo denim version. I was on the fence with the Olive and the black denim but I already have a sherpa lined black denim jacket from Bravestar so I went with the olive for more variety.
