We lost power on September 27th. How many days is that, @Mizmazzle ? Water is still out. Though they finished the Herculean task of putting in a new bypass line from the main reservoir that feeds Asheville’s water system. They are supposedly pressurizing the lines to look for leaks and sending the water straight into the distribution lines without putting it through treatment. So we should start seeing very sediment filled heavily chlorinated water soon. Once the sediment clears out this will be fine for flushing toilets, and for showering and laundry if we are feeling adventurous. I expect it will be many months before drinkable water comes out of the taps again.

@sabergirl I can’t even imagine the combination of emotions everyone over there must be going through. From fear to horror to gratitude to frustration and anger to awe at the ingenuity of humans to build and repair to the ineptitude of humans to tear down and destroy to love and ultimately perseverance.

Oh hell yeah. America is full of them, especially in places like New Mexico where there is very little/poor education. Do not engage!

@tody This is our first. I was dimly aware that we had such a movement here, but not seen any direct evidence of it until today.

I used to get super crazy letters and emails from insured customers. They really are a test of how professional you can remain.

@EdH Over here, it's the Reichsbürger-Movement, Citizens of the Reich.
I have spoken to colleagues who had to deal with them. Consensus was you need to remain professional, and the best advice is not to touch their arguments with a ten foot pole...

Amanda was super envious of the bibs Mrs. E was wearing at the party, but she was still able to pick up a pair of white herringbone ones. I gave her a denim western, wabash western (too small for moi) when we were first dating and bought her a blue UHF for xmas last year. She has worn them more often after the party.

@Mister_Brue that's rad your lady is into IH now. The 18oz OD CPO was a killer first choice.
