pending work, i may only have a short evening Saturday before a Sunday morning flight but at most I'd have Saturday afternoon through the same time.
Ideally a place to grab bbq, maybe a cool dive or cocktail bar, and/or a street or two to walk around.

@pechelman weirdly, Nashville isn’t known to be a great BBQ town. But you can get a great high end southern meal at Husk. It’s such a cool spot in an old mansion. I’d belly up to the bar downstairs for some bites.

        Think it, be it.

@mclaincausey thanks! I figured it was known as a good bbq town being near memphis and the carolinas. Certainly it will be miles better than 99% of what I can find at home, but I'm open to redirects as you note. Husk miiigght be pushing the limits of what i can slip through an expense report though 😃 Maybe I'll see about going to the bar for a cocktail if I have time.

if you have time the Country Music Hall of Fame is a favorite of mine to do in Knashville. Also Gruhn Guitars on Franklin. Also, just south of Nashville on and in Franklin, theres a great denim shop on the square. Franklin clothing i think. they have Benzak, N&F etc…

i have so many food allergies i cant really recommend any food places cause Nashville proper doesn't really cater to that. I still love going there and doing stuff and site seeing.

                Thanks @mikebarhoot !

I might try to swing by Franklin Road if I make it out of here early enough. Can't really predict what will happen then next few days just yet. Looks like they have something there I've been wanting to checkout for a while.

Franklin Road Apparel. I’ve only been there once a while back, never make it all the was down to Franklin these days. We had a Snake Oil Provisions for a hot minute, but it came and went very quick. There’s Imogene and Willie and Stag on 12 South, and RRL not too far from those. Nowhere that sells stuff comparable to IH, though.

Gruhn is good if you’re into vintage guitars, I’ve always preferred Carter Vintage guitars though. Plus it’s a little closer into town by just a couple miles.

You’ll have a better time getting into stuff if you’re here on a weekend than during the week.

There are no shortages for new and hip places to eat, but my go-to spots have been around for a while. I feel like we get a new place every week.

For food: Margot, Lockeland Table or Rolf and Daughters.

My favorite cocktails in town are at The Fox (19th century manhattan!) Put your name on the list at the Fox (there will likely be a wait on the weekend) and go to Mickeys Tavern around the corner for a dive bar vibe while you wait.

Did the best i could with the time I had available and lingering hurricane blustery drizzle that persisted most of the day.

Hit up Franklin Road to try on a dehen shawl sweater, neither the two sizes I thought would be right worked for me. Good as well because it was the most aggressively scratchy wool I've ever tried. The Filson mackinaw may as well be cashmere. (semi-hyperbole but also not really). Overall the staff there was really fantastic and helpful even taking time to circle a few places for lunch on a town map,

so then....grabbed a quick lunch in downtown franklin at Old Glory. Had a pretty decent burger with AMAZING fries, the drinks looked good but it was still a little early for me.

Got into Nashville proper, did some work for an hour after my drive up from Huntsville, and then ventured out into moderate drizzle. Started at 12th street, Immogene and Willie to checkout some t-shirts, grabbed a quick pic of the Nashville mural,
                      image.png

found a local resident who is super stoked about halloween,
                      image.png

and then did a bit of a mini bar crawl from grabbing a great jungle bird riff at the Chopper, which felt like what would happen if you made a Tiki bar themed after equal parts of Mos Eisley and Spongebob,
                      image.png

then to an amazing original cocktail at the Fox (thanks @chrisjohnnick) where I walked right in to the last open seat at the bar,
                      image.png

and then to grab some actual food (not pictured) and maaaybe the best drink of the night at Bee and Butcher.

Despite having only a mediocre dinner, probably b/c this place is better for sharing food with a few people, I had a good time roaming around trying to avoid getting too wet and found most everyone super friendly compared to some other places I've traveled solo for work.

                      Until next time, Nashville!

You did great for a one day stop in Nashville! Butcher and Bee is great, haven't been for dinner in a while, but their lunch menu is always great. I crave their whipped feta dip on the regular. Love Chopper, too. Only downside is it's in what used to be a friend's awesome clothing store that closed down several years ago.

I think the thing that impresses me most about your visit is that you didn't just spend the whole time on downtown broadway. It's such a tourist trap void of any culture and originality these days. I don't get why some people come to Nashville and spend an entire weekend there. It's like going to NYC and only doing Times Square.

I'm glad I got to drive through downtown, if for no other reason than to see a couple of those ridiculous double decker party platform bus things full of trashed ladies screaming country music at the top of their lungs. It felt super authentic.
