@seawolf Agreed, I watched the documentary and I think it was the best sports doc ive ever seen, must have been amazing to be a fan of them at that time.

@AdamC @seawolf totally agree re the doc if it’s The Last Dance you are referring to.

As a fellow Manchester United fan, Roy Keane is the closest I’ve seen to Jordan in sheer will to win. He dragged that team over the line so many times. What I would give to have a player like him in the current team.

I think when it comes to picking a team you also need to think about location. A lot of the teams already mentioned have grounds in very busy Cities. Whereas my recommendation is located in a cosy little town with super friendly locals who will be happy to chat with you about local customs and the heritage of the area.
The followers known affectionately as Smoggies are known far & wide for their compassion and unique all-welcoming approach to away fans.
The ground itself is situated by a beautiful river, in sight of the most historic bridge in the UK.
Anyway, enough of the PR, the only club you should be following is the mighty Middlesbrough Football Club, nick named the Boro.
West Ham and Celtic are also good teams.

@IH-GARY having been an away fan at both Middlesbrough and West Ham, I’m not sure ‘friendly locals’ is the first thing that springs to mind😂

Great shout about Celtic though. Fantastic support with the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced on European football nights.

@IrishHeart To be fair I am a little Boro biased as I was born in Teesside and grew up there so will always be Smoggie at heart but I lived in Glasgow for 12 years so got quite fond of Celtic. I lived close to Park Head and match days were a sight to behold and the atmosphere in the City around an old firm game was incredible.

@IH-GARY I did have a soft spot for Boro when my all time hero, Bryan Robson was there.

I have been to several OF matches including cup finals. There is nothing in England to compare, although not as good now that they don’t allow away support at the games.

Sorry, I’m the opposite with Boro, or the Leicester of the North East (trying to find a spare place in an actual local rivalry).

I may be biased though as someone tried to stab me there when I was teenager 😅

Zach you strike me as the type of dude who likes to take the road less traveled. I’ll throw a team in the pitch you’ve probably never heard of.

I used to live in Colombia, South America for a few years. Small city called, Manizales. They have a team called Once Caldas.

While I lived there you always knew a big game was a foot because the visiting team fans would decend on the town in droves. Marching into town on foot like marauding banshees coming to overthrow the town. It was nuts!! I went to several national championship games while I lived there. I would see bonfires lit up inside the stadium and fans dancing around the fires like aborigines. Lines of riot police snaked through the crowd to extinguish the flames only for another bonfire to erupt in a new location. The chanting, the rhythmic pounding of feet stomping and fans jumping in unison….it was like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

                              Once Caldas is my nomination.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...
