@Oaktavia Here's what I'm finding and they may be an extremely rare pair:

@Graeme said in Your biggest Iron Heart regret:

Just before the Loom Breakers were released, there was a pair of work pants sampled in the indigo / indigo canvas. They never made it into production, but the sample pair fit me perfectly.

I have no idea what happened to them. They never came up in any sample sales, but in retrospect I should have talked @Giles into selling them to me.

There have been a few releases that I liked the look of, but would be too warm for Australia. The IHM-38-OLV is a current example.

As for the IH-436, I got a pair from the last run in a size 34 during the pandemic. Due to being a bit fat then, they didn't fit me, and due to my gym habit, they still don't fit me. They're a weird cut. I probably should stick them up in a sales thread.

@Matt said in Your biggest Iron Heart regret:

@Graeme you aren’t talking about the double indigo duck work pants are you? Those were in production I believe, unless you’re talking about something else or unless I’m mistaken. I know that’s what G has.

@Graeme said in Your biggest Iron Heart regret:

@Matt they were probably more like the Engineer's jeans. I remember them being double stitched in orange thread.

@Giles Care to chime in and confirm...

@Graeme This is from the sellers description:

Good Condition. These are precious work pants with orange triple stitching that are pretty cool.■Size:W32, Waist/16.5in, Inseam/34.6in, Hem Width/9.0in,”

Here is what was Dennis found.

Edit: I ended up making an offer to the seller and they accepted it. If they arrive before the party I'll see if I have enough room in my luggage to bring them to show you guys if you're interested.

      Link to listing.

Now that I look at it again, the fade patterns on the waist do look like a how a duck weave would fade. Plus, the inside looks dark like indigo, unlike the 817 which is not indigo/indigo.

I found these which might be warmer but no cigar.

These as well but they are not the same either...

Read somewhere but can’t find it now, someone mentioning something like soaking to set in creases in legs/arms before washing to get better fades. Could someone clarify please?

Meaning they may have been Japan only?

I have a brand new pair of XHS. Haven't soaked/washed them yet. I lost some weight during summer and there's some excess fabric in the back. If I make a very very hot soak and then machine wash them (cold or warm), will shrinkage be permanent or will stretch back to pre soak measurements? Of course inseam and hem will not. I'm asking about thighs, front and back rise.

@goosehd somehow I remembered...it may be due to my semi recent bout of sobriety, or maybe my hyper fixation on double duck would prevail regardless.

Anyway I'm still searching and I found 23oz duck/duck which if you keep scrolling you will see @Giles adds,

"We are sampling a 634S type cut but with triple stitching and the like, I am also discussing a chino type work pant.."

@boutsk With the XHS, you will probably lose about .5” and up to 1.5” in the waist washing it that way. The waist will stretch back out while the other areas (unless they are under tension) should not.

Thank you. Have you got any idea how much will lost at front and back rise?

@boutsk “up to” means you “may lose” not “will lose” a half inch.

This is not an exact science and I’m afraid to put any definite numbers out there. Your results could vary from that number and is more of a generalized number from many users past experiences.

You have to decide if a half inch will get you what you want or not.

Temperature is one factor, agitation will also affect shrinkage

Hoping someone can help me with this. I own pair of Iron Heart 888s (size 35) and I'm considering buying a pair of White's Nomad Engineer boots. I'm not sure, however, if the pant opening will fit over the shaft of the boots. Does anyone have experience with this?
