@Mizmazzle For sure I would never have listened to Diplo if Sturgill had not stretched his talents to this track/genre - the Diplo ‘Country’ albums are well worth a listen, great for the gym!
There is some discussion as to whether it’s Sturgill riding the mechanical bull in the video!By the way, the track is a 10 year old Bedouin Soundclash tune - another awesome band!

I like many electronics artists and songs, and a lot of non-pop country. While I will always admire Sturgill’s openness to try new things, in this case for me the two go together like bananas and asparagus
When I saw him touring “with” Johnny Blue Skies, I searched to familiarize myself, not understanding it was a pseudonym for him. This was at the time the only track, and I was thinking “yeah maybe we skip the opener.”

I discovered this dude years ago and revisited today to find that he is still awesome. Icelandic metal/punk drummer turned neo-classical multi-instrumentalist.

@Tago-Mago man they’re so good live — saw them last year and man they were great. Such cool pyro and various other effects too!

@popvulture I was at their show in Munich last year and 2016 as well. I have rarely seen a band play with such passion, intensity and energy. When they launched into Flying Whales after the slow build it felt like the place was going to explode
