I don't know another about Jazz to properly articulate why I love this, but since I had a track introduced to me through a curated playlist, I've revisited this live album so many times. It's rare the purely instrumental music gives me frission, but so many moments here move me for reasons I'll never fully understand.

Favourite Hip Hip album in recent years, if not of all time. Only 21 minutes long, but so impactful and coherent.

Perfectly walks the line between reveling in the braggadocio/deviancy of his older music, and celebrating his successes/attempts to live a better life.

        Screenshot_20240620-071508.png

Won't even attempt to describe this one, I guess its roots are in punk/musical theatre/glam rock, but they draw from so many influences it's insane...

        Such a fun listen.

@T4920 the very same and yes, with Tame Impala’s drummer who does a bunch of cool stuff. Ambrose also has a project called Murlocs and their latest Calm Ya Farm is a heater, kind of Raconteurs-esque southern tinged rock and roll.

@GraemeE hope you feel better soon, man! Here are some latelies:

Priori - This But More (dubbed out ambient techno)
Full Bloom - Time Zones (kinda trip-hop, acid jazz even)
David Torn - Cloud About Mercury (some of the guitars on the above album are Torn-y and sparked a revisit)
White Ward - False Light (Ukrainian black metal with interesting prog-ish tendencies)
Omni - Souvenir (Strokes-y herky jerky rock)
Cola - Deep in View (Similar, but better ^^^)
                                            Pugilist - Banoffee Pies Beats 04 (more 90s-y trip-hoppiness)
                                            Sneaks - Gymnastics (No-wave-y dance-y shit)
Sonic Youth - Murray St (duh)
The Clientele - I Am Not There Anymore (still can’t put it down)
Arooj Aftab - Night Reign (insanely beautiful, just listen)

Pile - All Fiction (def a very fave rock release over the past couple years)

                                            Edit: adding audiobooks...

Listened to Jonathan Heidt's The Happiness Hypothesis recently and really enjoyed it. Also Thurston Moore's Sonic Life ruled, and I'm currently listening to a book called The Courage to Be Disliked, which explores Adlerian psychology in an interesting way. Some of it's a little corny in the delivery (the premise of the book is a conversation between a young student and an old philosopher) but I've found a lot of it nonetheless very interesting and useful. Also lately I've read Babel by R.F. Kuang, finished the last book of N.K. Jemisin's Inheritance Trilogy, and am about halfway through The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells, all of which would probably be great to listen to. Outside the sort of sci-fi/alternate history realm, I read Martyr by Kaveh Akbar and North Woods by Daniel Mason, both of which I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed.
