My 100 wear comparison between two 21oz pairs of 888. SBG and 21ib. They’re both amazing and it’s been fun keeping track of the evo of both.

@SKT thanks man! I’ll probably do some more outside if the weather cooperates. Really love the 21oz. It’s the best all around denim, hands down imo. Might have to get the 888 in the 18oz too tho. That’s also the best, but different lol

Also forgot to mention, both pairs went 100 wears with zero wash or soak. These shots are after the 100 wear machine washes.

@Fades-for-future thanks! They’ll probably part ways from here as far as strategy goes. I want to wear the shit outta the SBG with minimal washing, but wash the fek outta the 21ib. Thing is, it’s getting hot for 21oz tho, so they may just start taking a back seat until fall. I’ve got some 14oz projects to work on, and a OG 21 indigo that I want as an all around pair…. I’m afraid I’m falling into the too many pairs in the rotation camp.

pretty sure you will be back in the 21ozers after a few 14oz days cause 14 is in my opinion not so breathable like the 21oz... Keep us updated dude

I swear I was never interested in the ib before. But damn if they haven’t been catching my eye lately. Yours look saweet!!In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

@Mizmazzle Yeah super surprised at how the marbling toned down very quickly. You can tell from my shots in the SBG thread, it was real when freshly washed. Two wears later -barely there.
The ib is super cool. It's different but not screaming different. They're the fastest fading and highest contrasting denim I've had. They get some serious depth of color. I kinda wanna lighten them up a bit more with some frequent washing.

@Oaktavia lol thanks bud! I find it interesting how different pairs react to the same treatment. Now that I've done a personal record of 100 wears - no wash, I probably wont bother setting a milestone like that again really, but I'll still keep counts and stuff and go for contrast. I just wanted to do a two-pair head to head for funsies.

@WhiskeySandwich That's where I am at with seeing how disgustingly far I can go without a wash with my most recent pair...I got up to 141 before I washed my XHS and I'm not sure if it was worth the grime and grossness. I think ~100 wears might be the sweet spot. I recall someone on here saying waiting too too long might actually hinder fades, whereas washing at a more reasonable time will help them along. I feel like with only one wash with my XHS, now up to 157 wears, they are darker in more areas compared to if I had, say 5-6 washes at this point. With that said, my XHSbb has been washed 9 times and look more overall faded and more further along-looking at 149 wears...I could go on and on about this lol
