I’ve got the 292 and 293 OD so I’m wondering if I really need the 409? Think it would be a little too redundant? What you’ve done with it is absolutely amazing!!

@pjroo33 I've got the 293-OD and I love the way ib fades, but I just can't justify it at this point, but I may end up regretting not getting it. I also did just buy the 389-CPO.

I cannot tell you if you need a 409, but if the redundancy you are referring to is to point out similarities, they are quite different denims. With that said, some folks with an interest in IH value buying fewer, longer lasting pieces. I am not exactly of those people, because I obsess over certain denims, but it is something I at least try to be mindful of.

How old are your 292 and 293? It will take time to yield fades with any shirt. Buying three new ones around the same time will take a few years to properly fade all three of them. But if fades are not important to you, adding an arsenal of CPOs could be pretty great.

The colors of the 292, 293 and 409 are all quite different. The way in which they fade is dissimilar, all three denims change quite a bit with lots of wear but in their own unique colorways. The weight of the fabrics may only be 1oz of difference on paper, but the actual feel of the 18oz to 19oz is crazy. The 19oz just feels much more substantial than either of the 18ozers. The 409 is also the heaviest CPO IH has made so far, so there is that. I could go on, but my mind is wandering.

great write up brosive -in terms on tightness of weave would you say the 409 is most similar to the recent 16oz SBG release; tight and cronchy or more in line with the looser 18oz?

Can't speak for anyone else, but I have the 292 & 293, and feel that the 409 is one of those pieces that's just too cool to miss.
Dream up the ultimate heavyweight CPO and this is pretty much it imo

Add to that @Oaktavia showing what can be done (if you put in the time), and it's damn near irresistible.

The 409 is dense, textured and cronchy. The 361 is dense but uniform and smooth. I would not say they are similar.

@Luijim78 The trick for any release with limited availability is to be ready for when the item goes live. Sometimes hot items sell out in minutes.

I typically will sit down about 5 minutes before the release and refresh my browser fairly frequently as the products are added.

Works about 90% of the time (unless my internet craps out - happened more than once).
