@endo - on TANGK - just got the first listen - i like it a lot, they are still a very honest band, that works hard and put a lot of effort. they are true.

yes @prpx I like TANGK too. Already used to the three early release songs (Dancer, Gift Horse & Grace), now getting into the rest of the album. Going to see them live in 4 weeks in Hamburg.

After the first 2 new songs it's all old stuff and they just kill it. Great rendition of She talks to Angels. They have a new drummer, who I think makes a world of difference.

Crazy story about a Black Crows concert I went to in ‘92. My group of friends went to see them play and one of the guys brought his girlfriend that nobody really liked other than the friend. I don’t know what she drank or took but by the 3rd song she was completely messed up and somehow ended up crowd surfing…

Because of her messed up state and she was like a limp noodle, someone (or a group of someone’s) dropped her and she hit the floor hard. They stopped the concert, turned on the house lights, and took her to the ER.

Since we all carpooled together, we left the concert and went to the hospital together missing the rest of the concert.

We were all pissed at the guy and the girlfriend…

He broke up with her by the end of the week.

Edit: she was fine other than a few decent bruises.

@goosehd I saw BC around the same time in a high school gymnasium in Germany / they covered AB’s Dreams as part of their set. Literally the best concert I’ve ever seen - better than Radiohead.

The Crowes were so good early on. Loved Luther Dickinson’s stint with them too. Chris Robinson Brotherhood with sadly, dearly departed Neal
                        Casal was great too,

                        as are Magpie Salute.

Since I mentioned Casal, I’ll mention Circles Around the Sun, who are still crushing. They do kind of a space disco instrumental thing.

It’s a shame CR is such a douche. The way he treated his bandmates is inexcusable. I guess he and Rich made amends but Gorman got completely screwed.

                        Think it, be it.

@mclaincausey I think douche is doing a disservice to the word. Gorman was on an episode of Dean Delray’s podcast…Let there be talk. It’s really interesting, and he did get screwed.

Went to cinema in family to see The Holdovers. Very nice movie. Good family times. Top soundtrack. And I made one musical discovery. Like very much. I want to share it here. Labi Siffre!

I started using an app called '1001 albums generator'.

It gives you a random record from a list of 1001 greats, and gives you the opportunity to rate and write notes on this at the end of the day.

@Jett129 I don’t know if you have seen this series of Drumeo videos on YouTube where they take drummers from different bands/genres and play them drumless tracks for them to come up with their own take they would play with the music. It’s been great to watch the different drummers and in quite a few instances, I think they do as well as or even better than the original recording. This is one of them that I thought was awesome to watch and wanted to share:
