That looks suuuper fake! I think the arc stitching sticks out to me the most. Looks way off.

@GraemeE the back pocket gives it away- the red dubya is too low and the arcuates seem weirdly stitched as well as low too- or perhaps the top part of the pocket looks too...long?

H does not like the heavy patch on lighter jeans. For that read, the supply of the heavy leather is limited, so he wants to be selective with what he uses it on.

That’s always made sense to me, more of a Levis style patch on the lighter weight. Feels a little more vintage vs the overbuilt feel of the heavier stuff.
