Can someone summarize the best airport connection? Just Gatwick vs. Heathrow if there is a choice?

I think Gatwick is easier, it’s a direct train. Heathrow is possible, but slower. Direct coach, or a bus and a train

We did Gatwick and it was super easy. The train leaves right from the airport.

I'm pretty much committed to flying into LHR because there are direct flights from AUS to LHR and they're actually reasonable and I despise layovers.
