@Inorganic next on my list for him is

@GraemeE a classic indeed - I was tempted to get it at SPECKS - but passed (it comes up often enough) - and I was really tempted to pick up an old pressing of SLEEP dopesmoker....but alas someone beat me to it after I hesitated.

@Inorganic said in Wax Treasure (Vinyl):
SLEEP dopesmoker
I remember reading about the "weedian" repress of that one
Great record and cool concept.....it just played like shit due to oil residue -
@GraemeE hahah someone was definitely weeded when they had that idea lolol
-
Finally picked this one up on vinyl. Probably my favorite record of 2023.

Hey don’t forget the fragility of the media

@Tago-Mago badass cover art!
-
Sound grade:
- Out to Lunch: holy shit. Epic 3D sound. Very holographic and tons of separation with deep dark silence behind it all. Such a fun and energetic listen.
- Somethin’ Else: incredible separation and forward sound. Each solo jumps out and creates dynamic listening. Track A1 has some background noise. The rest of the abum was A+
- A Love Supreme: I was so excited for this one. The music is obviously epic. But the verve/ acoustic sounds press was very mid and contained. Not bad, but not alive and sparkled. Like listening with blinders on. Very narrow. I’ll be looking for a better pressing.
Overall, I have to say…the Tone Poet pressings are damn fine. Gonna be looking for more. Blue Train is next on the list to get. Grant Green’s “Idle Moments” is second after that.

@Mizmazzle - @steelydan picked up a stellar 45 repress of love supreme a while back
If you can't find an OG copy that might be the next best thing
