@Oaktavia glad you’re feeling better about this. Having things work out different to our plans is maybe harder to accept than a bit of paint, or whatever else it may be. I like order but I’m starting to learn that being/feeling in control is something of an illusion and I need to get better at accepting the unexpected.

It's crazy how much faster this denim fades compared the XHS Mad Black. I have worn these 20 days and they are more faded than my MB that are at 102 days. Unreal...

I wear 634 in size 38

But I bought IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk in size 36. it fits me at second top bottom and the guy at the shop said it will strecht out with wear. Top bottom fits after second wear
it's not been washed yet but I read that it will shrink.
Is it bad decision?

Any shrinkage you get will stretch back out. If they’re stretched out to a good size now then you should be ok.

Go ahead and soak them now before youbwewr them for too long. You dont want creases to
set in and then shift when the hit water for the first time. Not sure why you were advised to take 888's a tag size smaller that what you wear on 634 but if you can button them i guess you are ok.

FWIW id have done 32 in these if I could find one with a 32.5” waist and 33 in 634. Most of my 888s are 32 and everything else is 33. The high waist sits at a slightly narrower part of the body above the waist than mid or low rise cuts in my experience.

@Matt Excellent feedback and advice!

I’ve had issues with the 888’s and where they sit as almost everything I’ve worn over the last 30 years tends to sit lower on the waist like the 666’s and 634’s.

I think that once someone finds a fit that works for them, it’s tough to reinvent the wheel.

I just scrunch em up sometimes. Initially I sprayed them with water from a houseplant spray bottle we have. That helps because they become stiffer as they dry. I wear the stacks on top of the boots too.
