@Tago-Mago good eyes, it is. It's their signature blend; got a screaming deal on it, a 1.75L for a few dollars more than the standard .75L.

Sounds a bit like the Oaxaca version of Charanda from Michoacan. If you like rhum agricole probably worth a try . Let us know how it is!

@pechelman I do like Rum,but for whatever reason,I don't tend to reach for it. This could possibly check a lot of boxes for me. Will report back if/when I have the opportunity to try it.

If you're into whiskey I would skip it to be honest @Jett129. Really just depends on what and how you like to drink it. If you're looking for making cocktails and already have a bunch of rum then this might be a fun change of pace. But if you like sipping on other brown spirits there are many other rums I'd say to get well before something like this.

@TinMan If I’m not in the mood for whiskey, tend to be reaching for agave based spirits. I tend to drink rum straight or an occasional Mojito.

@Jett129 Same deal.. Bourbon and Rye are my go-to, but I do like a good Anejo, especially a Mezcal, usually during warmer weather.

@Jett129 I don’t know that one but have one called Tso’ok that is great. Very funky and very sugar cane-y. Imported by the Cuantacuentos people.

I don’t like rum much but enjoy this one even if I haven’t found a use for it outside sipping.

I think I’ll make a daiquiri today with the one I have. It’s not smoky so would probably work well.

@Jett129 just found this for the first time, forgot how much you paid for it and I overpaid. I have always considered BiB to have value but seeing the price they’ve been going for lately, I’m starting to wonder if they’re actually the mark of a superior product worth the premium. While this is a good bourbon, i don’t think it’s worth the $65 I paid ($45 is much more acceptable). Same with the McKenna that’s skyrocketing in price to give another example, got it for $32 just a couple years ago, now $65-70. There seems to be a pattern of overly hiked prices for something that used to just be a standard. I’ve been hunting for a bourbon to overthrow Russell’s Reserve 10 year at the $40 price point but I’m hard pressed, since Buffalo Trace went all but extinct at $28. Sorry to rant, maybe I had too much!
