Johnny Marr has just published a book called "Marr's Guitars", which features eighty-three of his collection. I flicked through a copy yesterday and it looks interesting.

@George-Homme When I was a kid I went to an event called Gretsch Guitarama and it was at this event that they first introduced the White Falcon. The Searchers were the band that they were sponsoring for the event as they played all Gretsch gear. Just curious, what kind of music will you be playing on it?

@George-Homme It had to be 1966,and I thought they were introducing the White Falcon, but upon googling it,I learned that it was first released in 1954. Maybe it was the fact that it had stereo capabilities.

Andertons Music have done a behind the scenes video of the Gibson factory.

They also took a look around the Gibson Custom Shop, which was really interesting. It also makes me think that I should be saving up for one. 😆

@AdamJ my favorite guitars are my custom ones built for me by Nik Huber. I have 4, a Dolphin II in Korina with brazilian rosewood fretboard. If it isn't the first one in korina he made it's damn close. The other is a Redwood Dolphin..it's a hollow korina body with a one piece redwood top, braz board. A dolphin Jr in korina with braz board and an Orca (LP style) with korina body, eastern maple top and braz board.

His guitars just speak to me and have since the first time I played them at NAMM in the early 2000's.

@Jett129 located in Pittsburgh, Pa USA. I've owned Rics and Gretsch guitars in years past. I had a really cool Elliot Easton model Gretsch for a long time that I loved, the Ric I had was a great guitar but was better suited for other players. It sounded awesome but I just couldn't get it to work for me...no idea why.

I also have a Collings acoustic that I've never seen anywhere else. It's supposedly a D2G which is their version of the Martin Drednought, the G in the name stands for a German Spruce top. But what makes this D2G different is that it has their "mom" inlay which is an elaborate scroll, engraved Waverly tuners, and a Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. It might be the only one of its kind, but that is just speculation.
