Question for Haraki-San:
Is there a product or item you would like to make, but cannot for whatever reason (e.g. factories just cannot make the fabric, the raw materials cannot be sourced ethically, the pattern is too complicated to construct)?

And/Or

When you sit down to design a new piece, do you picture any particular kind of person wearing it? If so, who is the 'model'/Iron Heart customer you imagine?

@Oaktavia Perhaps my ignorance, but isn't the answer "it's selvedge if it was woven on a shuttle loom and has a 'self-edge', and it's not if it was woven on a projectile loom and does not have such an edge"?

Or do you mean to ask "What factors do you consider when deciding whether to use selvedge or non-selvedge denim in a particular garment"?

I dont believe there is any non selvedge denim in the UK line which is too bad since the fit can be better. But it won't sell.
