That pic was taken at about 6am. I don’t know if you noticed but there is a small Polish art student in the bottom left of the picture that gives an idea of the scale. I’d spent the three previous hours sat in the middle of it, drinking wine and looking at the midnight sun….here:

Today is St.Hans Day which the norskies celebrate by burning crap. Any relationship with midsummer heathenry will be vociferously denied or vigorously confirmed, depending on who you talk to. Either way a fucking big fire is always a craic.

Shit. Having a big ass bonfire always sounds like a good idea. I see all these pics of folks wearing full on jackets in late June and I realize what the lines of latitude really mean. Thank god for the 23.5 degrees of the earths axis. Rueben, is the best time of year where you live? I know where I live I love the cold snowy times the best. The current hot makes me mad!
In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

@Mizmazzle it was about 12C but with an off shore wind that drove some rain. Not unusual. It’ll be 20-24C the next few days though. Tbh… I like blue skies and sun as much as the next carbon based bi-pedal life form, but anything over 20C ruins my mood unless it is windy too.
