@Daniel-San hey buddy. Now I’m curious. Would you say the 21oz lefty gets softer than the 21oz indigo or even the 21oz od? My ods are sooo soft. The idea of something even softer is quite intriguing.

I would say yes , my 21L are definitely the softest IH denim I own and I have and had a lot IH jeans 😂

I think some might say the 17oz Natural is the hardest, but from my personal experience I'd say my own most difficult has also been the 21L. I have a pair in 666 that don't really get any wear from my anymore these days because they're a bit too small, but I've probably worn them more than any other pair and they might've faded the least. SUPER soft and comfortable though, I will definitely agree.

@popvulture I remember reading that the 17n was notoriously hard to fade and thought it might get a lot of mentions. I’ve never had any so can’t compare personally. @Mizmazzle @Daniel-San I agree the 21L is the softest of the heavier weights that I’ve had but my 18oz vintage are pretty dang soft at this point. They’ve also been washed 4x as much as my 21L so…

I do know that the 17N does eventually fade super nicely, just takes a bit to beat it out of em I guess!

I think this counts as a definitive ruling. Thanks Reuben

Dig this convo. Interestingly, I’ve read on the 19oz lefty type 3 thread that that jacket fades fairly quickly. Of course those reporting that are die hard committed to beating hell out of their jackets, so this probably further proves Rueben’s point.

Slowest ones I’ve had are the 777N, but I did bail on OG 21oz before they started getting going and I’ve not messed with anything heavier than that for an extended period.

                        Think it, be it.

I think i can agree on that.. 21oz is a ‘slow’ fader but all the good fade examples looks stunning tho! But not that high contrast or so. I was always intrigued by Mike’s aka Filthy his honeycomb game even on the 21L. I think a lot of the fades are also regarding to the fit. A 555 wil get sharper fades then a 634 imo. Since i read the full article about starching your denim etc i started to dry my hands in my kneeholes or just spray them wet before i’ll go out of the door. The honeycombs feels a lot more crispy and start to pop even on my 634 for example. Not as strong as on my 555 UHR, but it’s there. What’s also a thing is that a older worn and faded pair 21oz feels heavier after a while. I received a Beatle Buster 21oz the other day and it almost felt like a 25oz weight wise. It’s all just my humble experience and i just love to talk about IH.. so sorry for the long story haha

Anyone experience how the 14oz fades? I’m intrested in the broken twill, but never had a 14oz at least not from IH.

As the weather here is warming up, I might start to wear my 643's in 14 oz. But looking from the fabric, I can say that they should definitely fade faster than my 21 oz.

There are no fade-examples of our 14oz Broken Twill yet. What the various versions of the 14oz Right Hand Twill fade like are no indication of how the Broken Twill will fade.....
