The first Smith has passed. RIP Andy Rourke. This is pretty sad music news for me.

Heartbreaking news for sure @Matt

I picked up the debut Smiths album not long after it’s release. It made a big impression on me, but shortly after, my cousin shared a live bootleg tape with me that featured the song Barbarism Begins At Home.
This one song amazed me and lead to a life long obsession with the band. I would constantly listen & rewind the track over & over - Andy’s bass line was hypnotic. To this day the funkier Smiths tunes are always my favorites.

Later in life I was able to purchase the bass from Andy that he used for the album recording of BBAH.

RIP Andy Rourke.
