@Mizmazzle you’re making smart decisions. Carry on.

Urgent urgent! Important news bulletin.
This is a public safety announcement.
The Bridezilla tirade has come to a peaceful end after several arduous days. The Bridezilla was spotted returning to her normal, adorable self. At 7:45 Saturday evening she apologized for her maniacal and ungodly behavior. Calm was restored to the town and all citizens were unharmed physically. Repeat. All systems may return to order.
Please return to your regularly scheduled programming.

@Mizmazzle If there's one thing I've learned in marriage, it's that usually the woman has the right answer. Furthermore, they often use retail therapy to relieve stress. following that line, you should buy yourself something Iron Heart to remedy your situation.
When you present it to her, tell her Jeff sent you.

@jordanscollected Your post made me think of this clip from Bill Burr.

I love all the support here!! The fact of the matter is my fiancé is a great gal. The reality of the present predicament is she’s losing her mind over the myriad details the last 7 weeks leading up to the wedding. She’s back to baseline now, but understand this is about to be a wild ride to the finish line. Any others experience this leading up to their wedding?

@Mizmazzle i’m engaged so not married yet but we’re settling down on some stuff and in the end i came to the vision that’s HER day. My opinion? Doesn’t mather.. so that’s why you have to enjoy the time BEFORE getting married. No just kidding. Always when you come to the point that you just wanna throw yourself of a bridge remember this question: why did you proposed her? Then al those happy and warm feelings will come back and you’ll tell her: sure baby we’ll fix this. And then the next wave will come in and then you need to ask yourself the same question. Every love story had a beginning. You fell in love, you still love her. You wanna be with her the rest of your days, right? If that’s not what you want.. just say no and RUN!

I’ve been together with my wife for 30 years (married for 25), and still love her as much as or more than the early days of our relationship.
I’ve never doubted us or the relationship. I’ll admit that sometimes you have to put some effort into it, but if you’re not, then you’re not doing it right.

@Heavy_blue 1,000,000% what I want. Love her to bits. She loves me the same. There’s zero doubt in any of that. Just curious if anyone else has some humorous accounts of their own Bridezillas? Sometimes hearing others stories helps to laugh off the irrational absurdity of our better halves behaviors!
Also, I fear my macabre sense of humor may have painted my scenario more dire than it is. Maybe I should stick to denim talk on the forum haha. Y’all just have great stories. Thought it could be fun to share.

@Mizmazzle no bro! I love your ‘weeks till the wedding’ stories! And i think this is the right place! Can’t wait to see some pictures! Any honeymoon plans?
-
@Heavy_blue yeah man! We’re getting married in Italy. Which is a big part of the frustration. The cross cultural planning and communication can be brutal. Then we travel Italy for a few weeks post wedding. I’ve been toying with starting a Mizmazzle’s Italian Wedding thread. Highlight IH presence throughout the whole wedding and travels!!
-
@Mizmazzle love the idea man! You should definitely do that! And Italy.. the place to be.. good food and wine and coffee
-
No advice (I think I’m immune to love). In my worst moments I tend to think of marriage as the original pandemic! In my better moments I have huge respect for people who can make it work and recognise they have something special (but not something I want) - really hope that’s how it works out for you. The Italian adventure thread sounds great!

Gotta do this. ^
I’ve got tons of thoughts on this whole subject but would need a brain more organized than mine to work them into coherence. We eloped is about all I can remember. Seemed to work, we celebrated 20 years in 2022.

I know she was losing it on the regular leading up to the wedding but she always has something she’s losing it over so this was just the drama du jour. I mostly tune it out so I don’t have any funny anecdotes. Except the time she emailed my sister in law about not wanting my step mom at the bridal shower because of what an awful bitch she is and they were devising an elaborate story to shut her out. Unfortunately they neglected to take her off the email thread. In the end that did the trick just fine.
