I'm interested in what material that sailcloth is made from. Some of the sailcloth like VX-XX that have made it into the luggage and textile industries are really amazing.

The good thing about an IMOCA 60 mainsail, is that it is relatively flat.  The boats have so much apparent speed that having a lot of curvature in the sails is not important (Alex's new boat is designed to have so much speed, he's actually considering not even taking a spinnaker).  Long story short, the awning should be fairly flat and easy to install….

Yeah. The really good news is that IKEA's planned obsolescence is about one month behind your partners need to "change things around a bit", so even if you manage to reign h/ir in the shite will fall to pieces shortly afterwards. So you'll be installing new stuff about twice a year… for the rest of your natural life
