@discobeard - looks like you have found your fit there - the O1's look spot on!

I started out with 777's but discovered and switched to the 555 by chance and prefer the higher waist and straighter line from the knee to the hem.

Now I tend to go for the same sizing in the different type of denims, if I need to make a tweak for shrinkage or weight I just send the optimum measurements to the crew and they check the batch for the closet match.

Nice patina on the belt by the way!

        @GC:

Personally, I have the same predicament @discobeard  I too only have IH jeans in the 555 cut, largely because I struck gold on my first IH trial at the lovely Rivet and Hide store. I am also tempted to dabble with other cuts, as the prospect of an even better fit is intriguing. Size wise, my 555-XHS and 555-03 are both 31'', I ended up with a 32'' in the 01, and they were for sure my snuggest fit to date. My two penneth, but the XHS if you are tempted, and I highly recommend them, seem to accommodate the extra weight of fabric without the need to up or downsize. The XHS are worthy jeans indeed. My fitment is driven by waist measurements, and these fabrics have all stretched by an inch and a bit, so buy them as snug on the waist as you can cope with. The fit just gets better by the hour. Measure your jeans, washed and unworn, and match up the XHS on the size charts. You'll be as close as you can in lieu of trying them on in person.

PS: Your 01's look like a great fit and are showing so lovely evo mate. Congrats!

        Thanks mate!

Yeah I think I would have to opt for the 31 again. I am excited that they’re a year old and only just getting started - most of my jeans need retired after a year 🤣

Thanks man. I saw a photo of the belt when it was new the other day - crazy how much they improve. Thanks for the input…now I just need to decide if I get a new shirt too...🤣😅

get the shirt man, you know you need one.

Plus I agree with the rest of the people, you basically hit the Lotto with that cut.

                      Good morning

Just new to forum, it’s really fantastic to read all the advice experience! Invaluable. Thanks!
I have recently purchased a pair of 555-XHS. I sized up to 34 to give a little more room but as I have been wearing them they are stretching a little more in the waist than I expected.
I have read a few things in the thread about shrinking and wondered whether it is better to hot soak then warm wash or straight warm wash to get more shrinkage. I think shrinking these will really make them a perfect fit. Also on previous denim I have washed I get those awful fold/crease lines (always seems to be in the same place). Any suggestions of how to avoid this, esp with the 25oz?
Love these 555 though. I think they are going to be my favourites.
                      Thanks again!

@ejwop the XHS has a little shrinkage in it (assuming you haven’t already soaked or washed). To get the shrinkage out either washing or soaking would be fine.

Soaking needs agitation to be effective but has the advantage of being gentle.

Machine washing is most effective, but if you machine wash you increase the chance of those lines

To avoid those, I find the following method to help:

                        1.  Using the shower head thoroughly soak the jeans.
                        2. Turn the jeans inside out and soak again with the shower head.
                        3. Still inside out, put them in the machine and wash them have the spin on the machine as low as you can, or better still turn it off.
                        4. Air dry.

The thorough soaking beforehand makes the denim a little more supple with helps to avoid abrasion at the creases which is what gives those lines.

It does not stretch as readily as OD 21oz, nor as much. It will also loose half an inch or more with a soak/wash.

In general, XHS will end up slightly larger (by about half an inch), than published measurements after shrinkage and stretch has happened.

                                          (Edited for clarity).
