Thanks! Definitely some stretch, nowhere near as much as my 21oz OD.

Thanks buddy, good eye. Only problem with raw denim is I can’t break out my fav footwear until I’m positive they won’t turn blue.

I haven’t had much and it’s the most frustrating thing for me.

No personal insight but I’d imagine they fit quite differently. My understanding of the 633 is that it is the 634 with taper from the knee. In which case the top block on the 888 will be markedly different (much higher rise, wider over the hip), and the taper on the 888 starts well above the knee.

Did anyone give their denim an initial soak in water before wear?

I've been wearing my denim for about a month. I never gave them an initial soak. The denim isn't as stiff as it once was but I'm a bit impatient for them to loosen up even more. On one hand I'd kind of like to give them a soak so that they will loosen up. On the other hand I don't want to lose the heavy indigo on the surface of the denim.

                  Any thoughts?

Water alone won’t make the fabric any softer. In fact you may find it makes them crispy again. Movement, agitation, stretching, and twisting is what loosens the denim.

A wash in a machine with spin and tumble drying are short cuts to broken in jeans. They are also shorts cuts to early indigo loss, and possibly ugly marks. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Your best bet is to keep wearing them, as much as possible, for as many activities as possible.

Soaking them before wear is pointless, we have already one-washed them.
As Neph says, washing them will not make them softer
Washing them gently will cause very little indigo loss. Case in point, we beat the shit out of them in our one-wash.  What causes indigo loss is abrasion, not washing.

Whoops. I guess its time to soak em. 6 months of wear. I Really like this denim.

Looks like it @p194 Of course if that is mud, some folks would let it dry and brush it off rather than washing… I am definitely not one of those people [emoji23]. Looking forward to seeing them post wash.

14 months, two soaks, no washes.

I purchased these during a trip to London in March 2019 and wore them regularly—but mostly indoors—for almost a year. The fit broke in nicely but they hold onto their indigo and are pretty resistant to wear. A couple months ago I stopped taking such good care of them and started wearing them during a landscaping project, and they are starting to come along. You really have to lean on these jeans to get them to show anything at all.

I can’t believe that with all the crouching, climbing, and kneeling in the dirt they still look so new in the photo. Dirt pretty much brushes off them when they dry so it’s been easy to hold off on washing.

Keep at it @Islander. One day the indigo will just give up and leave. You may also find that a wash at this point is a good idea and will help the progress. The benefits of fading connected to that whole no wash thing is a little exaggerated. They look like a really nice pair if jeans already.

So… Are these pants more comfortable is you're a bigger guy with a bit of a gut?  Initially I had thought so but now I'm not sure, especially if the pants are more-so suppose to be sitting atop my stomach.  Think that would get uncomfortable.

The added room can add some comfort to those with a more portly stomach area, alternatively, the 777 can work as the rise sits bellow the gut, but sometimes that can lead to a builders crack situation

For me, yes.  I've gained a bit of weight over the years but used to be an avid cyclist and skateboarder before that.  I've always had larger than average thighs and these are the only model now that fit me well.  I think the higher rise is actually nice.  I don't feel that it's uncomfortable.  But, if you get a pair that doesn't fit well, then no matter what they'll be uncomfortable. 😉  As mentioned, the 777 can fit well if you have less meat on your thighs.  For me that model is less comfortable.  YMMV

                                          What about the 555s?

I was trying on the 888s, in a size 36, I had recently purchased.  Wife thought that a skinnier jean might look more flattering on me.  She might be right.  The rear rise on the 555s are nearly the same and the front rise just a tad shorter.  Just never really thought to order slim jeans given my midsection weight.  Does anyone have thoughts?
