As Giles says the UHR is the only truly raw denim IH produces (sanforised denim is not raw), and the UHR is a very dense weave that does not breath well. I struggle with it when the temps hit 20C.

Lighter denim is obviously better tan heavy in warm weather, but the density of the weave also plays an important role and in this respect he 21oz denim is the best performing denim Iron Heart make in the heavyweight class, when it comes to warm weather.

I've got a pair of Mister Freedom jeans in a 9 oz raw denim, and they're great in hotter weather. It's been over 35°C here in Brisbane recently.

The lightweight white 666s are pretty good too. Unfortunately they've sold out now.

No raw denim of course but the 634S-14 is my favorite summer jeans, especially during the warmer months I do prefer a wide cut like the 634. Regarding raw denim I can recommend THF's 3009 in their 14.5 oz denim. Again a straight cut. Due to more texture it "feels" slightly warmer with higher temperatures then the IH 14 oz.

Sorry guys, i am bit new to this denim world so i may have used incorrect expressions

I mean, what would you suggest me as a good pair of selvedge summer jeans (sanforized or unsanforized) from high japanese denim brands such as IronHeart, Samurai, JB, Momotaro & friends?

I have read that good summer jeans would have to be 10-12oz max. How do you feel with 14oz and slightly above?

I was thinking about the IH-888s-RE 14.7oz (as i need a regular fit, definitely not tight with my large thighs and 171 cm tall), however i don't see many reviews on it so i am questioning if this choice would be smart in terms of quality and utility in warm weather.

                Thanks for all your suggestions

Quality wouldn’t be an issue, @tvenuto maybe able to say something about suitability. I haven’t had the 14.7oz so I can’t comment.

I can use 21oz in 20-30C without a problem, especially in a relaxed cut. But people are different.

I would try the 142 denim in the 634 cut. It’s seriously glorious in summer time. I live in coastal Alabama and wore it 3-4 days per week to work and about town.

Another vote for the 14oz denim–mine are the overdyed 666, but they are easily summer jeans no matter where you live. I also wear them in winter (e.g., right now as it snows outside). It is a versatile fabric for a year-round jean if you live somewhere where it gets warm.

                          Think it, be it.

I am from Italy where last summer temperatures reached 38 °C, sometimes also 40 °C! Also when it happens to rain, everithing gets unpleasantly humid.

Is the 634s in 14oz still ok for such heat and is it considered regular fit? I have large thighs and short legs, i am 171cm tall. I usually wear size 33 in other jeans brand such as diesel, armani, etc…

Are you used to wear raw denim jeans in warmer weather like 28 °C and above?

What model would you suggest me?

I didn't realize you were asking which model of any brand would one suggest, I thought you were speaking only of Iron Heart models.

For Iron Heart I still recommend any of the 14oz fabrics, it's a no brainer for me.  Sure the 21oz is breathable and can be tolerated in warmer temps but the 14oz are still going to be more comfortable in warmer weather IMO.

The 16oz vintage would be my next suggestion as someone else mentioned above.

For other brands I would recommend 3sixteen's 12oz fabric, hands down. Very comfortable, lightweight (obviously) and for a 12oz denim it drapes very well and still retains a bit of ruggedness or "rawness".  A lot of lighter weight fabrics don't drape well on me.  Their 15oz fabric is even good for warmer weather too.

you mean the ST-101x, CT-101x, SL-101x? Just looked at them and looks great  🙂

Which cut of those do you think would resemble the 634s one more?

Yep, those are the ones.  If you're looking for the closest to a 634 cut I would go with the SL-101x (straight leg).  It's not a completely straight leg as there is a bit of taper but it has the least amount of taper among the 3sixteen cuts.

I personally prefer the ST cut (slim tapered) which would maybe be closest to the 777 IH cut, then the CT cut (classic tapered) would probably be closest to the 888 IH cut.

I don’t have experience with SC but 3sixteen makes good denim. I have their st cut and sl cut and like them both.
