I'm with you.  I like the work shirts more than the westerns.  I've had to work really hard to get over the mental image that I have of western shirts that looks like this:

I hate to be that slang grammar nazi guy but a Chicano would not be caught dead in a shirt like that.  Chicano is a term that is associated with a completely different style and culture than what you're referring too.
