My folks have a very similar arrangement to that in Spain. It’s eminently practical and a pleasure to cook there. Have you considered having some gas driven rings alongside the grill? Means you can do an entire meal out there, greens, carbs, the lot.

And, for those of you who have been here, you may remember that behind the big Bay hedge, we had a wasteland that I laughingly referred to as the kitchen garden.  Well, we gave up on that and decided that we would make it into a hidden cut flower garden.  I reckon I'm about 70% there, but boy what an improvement…..

The monochrome kitchen looks like the setting for the wood centerpieces, table and chairs. Was that the plan? I think it looks great.

We wanted a space that would be easy to add colour, so we went for a monochromatic colour scheme that we could add splashes of colour/contrast.  When we get around to adding curtains etc, they will be full of colour….
