A new denim would mean a greater number of pairs required to make it happen. To louis and @EJS I think the 666 is our least popular cut currently across the board.

i'm not surprised at all since i've seen the trend switch from slim to taper at a time when everyone with slim jeans pinroll their cuffs. to me, it looks like s**t.

the 666 is the prime versatile jeans in my view as it's not too wide for boots yet slim enough to wear with sneakers. i promise i'll try the 777 or 888 in nov and give them a thought.. hopefully it's not too late for a vote then  🙂

Different strokes for different folks. I dislike a really strong taper on denim. I'm talking anything below 7.5". At 5'11, 175 lbs i'm usually a 34-34.5" waist, 12.5-13" thigh, 8.5-9" knee and 7.5-8" hem in the sizing spectrum. The 777 cut, and to some degree, the 888 cut fall into these parameters which is pretty decent. I just can't and won't wear any cut of jean where the hem falls into bell bottom territory, which for me is usually 8.5"+. Of course, there are many different body shapes on the forum and IH can't please them all.

You can make the 777 work with that waist and thigh combo?

yes, if I account for some stretch. The IH-777S-21 in a size 34 has a 34.4 waist and 12.2 thigh. The thigh would likely stretch. The IH-777S-142 has a 34.5 waist and 12.5 thigh which is perfect. Of course, if the forum jeans were made in a 777 cut i'd have to size accordingly since they would be sanforized but unwashed. Otherwise, I could likely make the 888 cut work too, it's just the hem is a tad bigger than I like.

Wow, congratulations for the success on the newfangled cuts, and thanks for keeping the fuller cuts for the oldsters and old souls.

As an aside, I'm with @louisbosco , but then I'm old enough to have gotten over the pinrolling fad (including acid wash) decades ago. Seeing resurfaced trends like this and vintage Jordans all the rage again makes me happy for those who missed it the first time around, and bored for myself 🙂

              Think it, be it.

So at 5' 11" you would have to have them hemmed, and then the 7.5 - 8" hem wouldn't really be a true hem???

Jeans are great but they come with the same considerations that all pants have when deciding what to wear.  I like things that are generally useful and can be carried/worn/used whenever.

                        Brass/leather key fob? Key hanger?
                        Denim bangle?
GAH made silver key tag/fob? Money clip? Carabiner? Signet ring?
                        Mug?

                        Just some alcohol fueled brainstorming…

We did not get anywhere near enough interest for either the 777 or the 888.  Given that, I know we would not get enough interest for a 666.

By the way, I voted for 888, I mistook it for 666 for a min, I am wearing 666 happily and would like to stick to it in future. Please excuse and discount my 888 vote, sorry for the trouble.

i hope you don’t take the lack of interest to be for forum jean idea. i feel like the the beige weft ‘dirty denim’ is a bit of an acquired taste. for what it’s worth though i probably would have gone for them in a 666 cut. even if it’s your least popular cut it’s maybe the least partisan?

666 cut of the indigo/black would get there i bet but maybe that cabalizizes your 555/888 release (wait a while and try if there’s still enough material?)

try a vote with over dyed 25oz 666s! not sure how you’s make them forum unique though… patch would be too complicated/expensive. maybe black thread?

Shame that this looks to be a non-starter. Forum jeans seem like they should be a thing. It would be a feather in the cap of the brand and the forum and an exclusive bit of kit. For this reason alone something a little different (brown weft, coloured arcs) seems appropriate (he brown weft is also glorious). Maybe some time in the future…

I think a new denim should be bought out in a forum special jean before being released as a regular jean
