IH-888XHSib - 25oz Indigo/Black Sample Thread

Thanks Marty, they look amazing. I wasn’t going to get these at first but after looking at the pictures have decided to get back into 25oz and there is no promise they will make the 888 in 25oz again. So I’m just trying to work out what size I’ll need and just sit patiently.

The 888 has (in ways) replaced the BB cut for those wanting a regular fit, mid rise cut with more taper than the 634. Where as the BB cut had a moderate taper, the 888 has a more aggressive taper for a more modern silhouette.
I was a BB fan back in the day and feel the 888 cut is a fresh take on that - one that even more people can enjoy due to the non-restrictive top block many iterations of the BB cut had.
Hope you are able to get a pair of really enjoy them

I Agree they are totally different - I was simply saying they are both options for those wanting a more refined regular cut Jean because it was asked.

@Giles & IHUK crew - a few of the usual questions - How many pairs will be available (particularly 33)? Is this a JP release, what's the extent worldwide? What other stockists will get these, or IHUK only? Do you expect them to sell out quickly? (um - yeah, duh). What's the extent of this denim - Will this 888XHSib ever be re-run again, or will this denim be used for other cuts, like @kiya 's 633?
I'll say it again, for me this is an epic, grail denim. XHS denim is one of my favorites ever. I missed out on the Pronto double indigo, but I think I might prefer this IxB even better. Cheers! mpp

I took your point as being that the 888 fills the hole left by the BB cut being retired, while at the same time not being the BB cut. In which case I agree.

When we create the forum thread we'll list world-wide stockists. I guess we are getting 6-8 tag 33 at IHUK, will know when we have sorted out the allocations (what get's made is often different from what we order - because either we lose some in QC or Tom makes more to account for QC failures, and then less than predicted fail)…
We have enough of the denim on hand to make about 300 pairs of somethings.....

Ahh, man… I am so torn at the moment between these and the lefty OD Type III. I've been wanting that OD jacket for months now, but that's extant and these are gonna be gone. Decisions, decisions. And to anyone who's about to type "Get both!"... that is not an option! Not this year, anyways.
Seriously… this dilemma is occupying an embarrassing amount of my time. I guess that's how I know my life is just wicked chill. First World problems!

The levelling question here is do you have a realistic need for either an OD type III or pair of blue/black jeans? I don’t mean an existential need, but does either fill a gap in your wardrobe? If so buy that one.
If the answer is no or not really then your above logic is impeccable. This is a very special denim and won’t be around very long.

Sage advice. They both represent gaps in my wardrobe, but I think maaaybe the Lefty OD is a slightly bigger gap. Blue jeans I have; a Type III I do not. Either way… pondering which nice item of clothing to drop half a grand on is a nice problem to have, I suppose!
